Abstract
A toothbrush comprises a cartridge 4 containing toothpaste, and a pump 6. The pump comprises a flexible, resilient, rubber compartment and a valve. Operation of the pump via a pump switch 2 causes toothpaste from the cartridge to be dispensed via a tube 5 and through a hole 1 into the bristles of the toothbrush. A one-way piston 3 is provided within the cartridge, with piston jaws on its rear surface, the jaws gripping the inside of the cartridge to prevent it from moving backwards. The rubber compartment may be a cylindrical sleeve which can be depressed laterally, at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge and compartment, by the switch. The switch may be a raised wedge or rectangular formation supported by corrugated formations around a wedge that allows the resilience to be achieved.
Description
ULTIMATE TRAVEL TOOTHBRUSH
Going on holiday did pack your toothbrush and toothpaste. Yes I did, only to find out on arrival that you didn't either bring your toothbrush or your toothpaste. . Now you have to travel miles to find a toothbrush or toothpaste this is very time consuming. What if the toothbrush and toothpaste are all in one(FIG12), The Ultimate Travel Toothbrush is a self-dispensing mechanism and toothbrush that allows toothpaste to be dispensed and controlled simultaneously between or among the bristles of the brush is described. The device and dispensing mechanism are energised mechanically by pressing a small a designated point that leads to a fixed amount of toothpaste being dispensed. One embodiment is a miniature, low-cost, disposable but environmentally friendly device that dispenses toothpaste into a toothbrush for long-haul, overnight travellers and the hospitality industry. Alternative arrangements allow for the viscous fluid to be dispensed for other purposes including the cosmetics and healthcare industries.
Well this product that dose that in (FIG8,9 &10). If you only have the use of one hand now you can easily put toothpaste on your toothbrush (FIG 1), With one push of a switch(1/2) this product dose that .The Ultimate Travel Toothbrush (FIG1) comprises 4 parts, toothbrush top (1/5), rubber pump (1/6), toothpaste cartridge case (1/4) and with a piston (1/3) in it. These 4 parts can be seen in (FIG 11) in the assembling process.
The Ultimate Travel Toothbrush (FIG 1) allows the dispensation of toothpaste through the bristles (1/1) of the toothbrush top (1/5) from the cartridge(1/4). This action is done by pressing and releasing a rubber switch (1/2)on the side of the rubber pump(1/6) this action also allows the conversion of lateral movement to vertical movement in (FIG 8&9)creating a suction on a one way piston(1/3). This piston(FIG 4) comprises of piston head (4/1),claws adjuster (4/2) and pair of claws (4/3). The piston movement upward through the cartridge, as seen in the toothpaste to flow path (FIG 10). Toothpaste is pushed in a upwards direction towards the Toothbrush top(FIG 2) and through Toothbrush Hole (2/2).
The Ultimate Travel Toothbrush has 4 parts.
1: This toothbrush top (FIG 2) is allows toothpaste to flow from the cartridge(FIG 5) to the pump(FIG 6) through the tube (FIG 2) and out of a hole place in the middle (2/2) of the bristles (2/1). 2: This pump (FIG 6) consist of complete rubber mould (6/2),(6/1 ),(6/3),(6/5) and a rubber switch (6/4) which when squeezed and release allows the pump to compress and depressed(FIG 8&9) a rubber sides creating a upwards suction.
3: The cartridge (FIG 5) hold toothpaste (5/3) in a case (5/1) and a piston (5/2) that moves in a one way (upwards) direction.
4: The piston (FIG 4) consist of a piston top (4/4) that sweeps the (FIG 5) cartridge, piston body (4/1),claws aligned (4/2) and a pair of claws which compress and expand.
5: The cover(FIG7) this covers the toothbrush top(FIG 2) for hygiene purposes .
The entire toothbrush is assembled in (FIG11) This Ultimate Travel Toothbrush is design for the leisure and travel industry.
Claims (6)
1. A toothbrush assembly comprising (a) a means for holding toothpaste (b) a means for the toothpaste to be dispensed among the bristles of the brush utilising a flexible spring-like rubber compartment and valve assembly
2. The toothbrush as claimed in Claim 1 where the dispensing means (a) comprises a valve assembly consisting of a piston whose front surface is in contact with the toothpaste and whose back surface is attached to a piston adjuster and piston jaws (b) causes the piston to be drawn in the forward direction only, towards the brush (c) allows the piston jaws as it moves forward to remain in close contact with the inside walls of a cylindrical reservoir in a manner that stops the piston and valve assembly from moving backwards (d) as claimed in 2(c) where the piston jaws open outwards firmly gripping the inside walls of the reservoir when a reverse pressure is placed on the front surface of the piston in a manner that stops the piston from moving backwards
3. The toothbrush as claimed in Claims 1 and 2 where the flexible rubber compartment (a) is capable of being depressed to the extent where the lateral displacement nominally at right angles to the cylindrical axis of the reservoir is recoverable with spring-like qualities (b) is capable of creating a suction in front of the piston so that the piston moves in a forward direction only, causing toothpaste in front of the piston to be dispensed through the bristles of the toothbrush (c) may be formed into a cylindrical sleeve where the pump switch is a raised wedge or rectangular formation that is supported by corrugated formations around the wedge that allows a springlike action to be achieved
4. The toothbrush as claimed in Claims 1,2 and
3 where the valve assembly (a) comprises a means for maintaining alignment and uniform movement of the piston in the cylindrical reservoir chamber as the piston traverses through the said chamber (b) comprises a circular rubber piston adjuster attached to the back surface of the piston that allows the piston to maintain uniform alignment and motion along the inside walls of the reservoir chamber
5. The toothbrush as claimed in Claims 1 to 4 where the cross-section of the reservoir chamber is elliptical, rectangular or any regular shape
6. The toothbrush as claimed in Claims 1 to 5 where the main axis of travel of the piston and valve assembly follows a smooth curve or nonlinear path.
