Description
A CAPSULE BEAD AND ASSOCIATED ELONGATE CARRIER
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a capsule bead and associated elongate carrier, comprising a kit of parts; more particularly but not exclusively a kit of parts for travel and memories.
Background
Increasing numbers of people are able to enjoy travel, either locally or in foreign countries, as a result of reduced air and land travel costs.
For many people, this can be an eye-opening, transformative and highly memorable experience.
Photographs and videos can be efficient at revisiting memories, but are tied to the physical or digital medium in which they exist, and so may be difficult to keep to hand as a memory prompt.
Souvenirs are also typically large and cumbersome and not likely to be on hand when a user is going about everyday life. As a result memories of holidays or experiences can be liable to pass quickly.

A cap includes a cylindrical stopper receivable within the housing neck to provide closure of the interior cavity thereof. The heart-shaped housing interior cavity is divided by an interior wall into a closed sealed cavity portion which receives and supports a liquid and glitter particle combination. The remaining portion of the housing interior cavity is accessible through the neck portion to provide a refillable reservoir for liquids such as cologne, perfume or the like. A heart-shaped compact having mating half portions is receivable within the heart-shaped interior aperture of the housing and is securable to the pendent by a tight fit therebetween. A ring includes a generally U-shaped resilient clasp receivable upon the neck portion of the pendent and bearing an ornamental article to further enhance the appearance of the pendent.
The present invention arose in order to overcome problems suffered by existing devices.
Summary of the Invention
According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a kit of parts comprising one or more capsule beads, for an elongate carrier; wherein at least one capsule bead comprises an outer housing and an inner container, the outer housing is displaceable from a first sealed position sealing the container to a second open position for filling the container, and wherein the capsule bead comprises a central bore, passing through at least the outer housing.
In some embodiments the capsule beads may be substantially spherical. In some embodiments the bore may pass through the geometric centre of the capsule bead.
In some embodiments the present invention may comprise identification beads, which may be used concurrently with the capsule beds on the elongate carrier, so as to identify objects or substances within the container, or purpose of the container.
In this way the capsule bead may be used to provide a bead for use with a bracelet or necklace.
In this way the capsule bead may provide a capsule for recording a moment or place.
In some embodiments the capsule bead outer housing may be made of high quality and robust material such as acrylic or other polymer.
In some embodiments the outer housing is hollow and formed of two halves which fit together to encase matter or substance from a place or time, such as sand or water, within the container.
The parts may fit together with a sealing mechanism, which may be envisaged to be single-use or non-reversible, for example comprising a resilient friction fitting. In some embodiments the mechanism may be provided with sealing members or parts.
In this way it may be envisaged that a user may purchase a capsule bead or multiple capsule beads and fill them with sand (for example) from somewhere they have been travelling, wherein the bead may then be threaded onto a bracelet or necklace and kept as a memento.
In some embodiments therefore the capsule beads comprise clear glossy beads that have a sealable cavity or reservoir for filling up with memorable holiday things such as sand, water, earth etc. Each capsule bead may be arranged to cooperate with another bead that displays indicative information such as a country’s flag. The user may therefore wear a bracelet and buy beads separately to fill up when travelling on their holidays.
According to a second aspect of the present invention each capsule bead may cooperate with smaller metal bead with a flag bossed on, which sits alongside the travel capsule bead on the elongate carrier to indicate the origin of the capsule contents .
The elongate carrier may comprise a bracelet, which may be a simple band with a magnetic clasp.
In this way the user can take away a special momentum from their holiday that’s personal to them, such as sand from their favourite beach etc. It is a unique souvenir specific to the user.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example only and with reference to the Figures in which:

Detailed Description of Figures
With reference generally to figures 1 to 6 there is generally shown an embodiment of a capsule bead 99 for an elongate carrier 1000 to form a kit of parts; comprising an outer housing 1 and an inner container 21, wherein the outer housing 1 is displaceable from a first sealed position sealing the container as in Figure 6 to a second open position as in Figure 5 for filling the container, and wherein the capsule bead comprises a central bore 2, passing through the outer housing 1.
In particular reference to the embodiment shown the embodiment comprises a spherical outer formed of two parts 3,4 with a geometrically central bore 2, formed by concentrically mating open-ended cylinders 7,8 which utilise small bump fittings 11 and a channel 10 to lock the two parts 3,4 together when clipped together.
The capsule bead 99 has an outer manufactured in two half parts 3, 4, enabling the user to fill the container 21 with contents and then clip the outer housing 1 together. Both halves are manufactured from clear acrylic, with world detailing pad printed or laser etched onto the surface.
A rubber gasket 12 is embedded into the base of the female half part 4 will create a seal when the male part 3 is clipped in.
Similarly, on the edge of the male part 3 is a silicon overmoulded rim 6, this will compress when joined, creating a seal where the parts meet.
A metal plating 5 is then attached with an adhesive to one part in an indentation 9 so that when the outer clips together it will line up with an indentation 9 on the opposing part.
The capsule bead of the pictured embodiment may be provided as a clear glossy bead with painted stain glass effect ‘World’ detailing and having a mechanism for opening and securely closing when filled, wherein the sealing mechanism may be permanently locked when in the closed position.
According to the second aspect of the invention, as shown in Figures 7, 8 and 9 the capsule beads 99 are located on an elongate member 1000 interspersed with cooperating identification beads 101, 203, 303, to form a bracelet.
The identification or spacer beads 101, 203, 303 are small rounded beads manufactured from the same polished metal as the end bead and plating.
In the second and third embodiments a solid metal bead 202, 302 is used to join each end of the bracelet, this has similar world detailing etched onto it.
One end of the bracelet screws halfway into this bead. Magnets in both ends can then be used to join the bracelet together.
In the pictured embodiment one end may be wider or larger than the other so that it is possible to only add beads at one end.
The bracelet comprises a threaded end and a non-threaded end.
Feeding a non-threaded end into the other side allows the user to join the bracelet wherein the threaded end is flush with the band so beads can be added and the 5 opposing unthreaded end is thicker to prevent beads sliding off in the event the bracelet is undone.
The invention has been described by way of examples only and it will be appreciated that variation may be made to the above-mentioned embodiments without departing 10 from the scope of invention as defined by the claims, in particular but not solely combination of features of described embodiments.
