Abstract
An adhesive skin sticker comprising attached objects, a method of lighting 1 directing light towards said attached objects 4 to provide illumination, and double sided adhesive film 2, 3 securing said attached objects and method of lighting to a user's skin. Preferably, the method of lighting includes LED’s directed outwardly from the skin of the user. The adhesive film may secure the attached objects to the method of lighting, and the sticker to the user’s skin. A conducting material 5 and power and control box 6 could also be incorporated, wherein the power and control box comprises a switch 7, control chip and battery.
Description
The present invention relates to the technical field of lighting. More particularly, the present invention is in the technical field of body attachment. This invention describes a new type of adhesive skin sticker that is illuminated.
Background [0002]
Adhesive skin stickers with attached objects such as acrylic rhinestones are used mainly as costume pieces at parties and music events. Adhesive skin sticker comprises a double sided adhesive film and attached objects. One side of the double sided adhesive film is used to secure the attached objects such as acrylic rhinestone and the other side of said double sided adhesive film is used to stick to the skin of the user. They can be different sizes, shapes and colours. However, these types of adhesive skin stickers are only visible in daytime or environments with sufficient lighting. Such requirements limit the usage of the adhesive skin stickers.
[0003]
There exists a need for an illuminated adhesive skin sticker that is visible in the dark or in poor lighting conditions.
[0004]
There also exists a need for an illuminated removable adhesive skin sticker to have LED for illumination.
[0005]
Multiple embodiments of this invention are disclosed herein. It will be understood that other objects and purposes of the invention, and variations thereof, will be apparent upon reading the following specification and inspection of the accompanying drawing.
Summary of the Invention [0006]
According to the invention there is provided, as set out in the appended claims, an illuminated adhesive skin sticker comprising:
attached objects;
a method of lighting directing light towards said attached objects providing illumination;
double sided adhesive film securing said attached objects and method of lighting to the user’s skin.
[0007]
The advantage ofthe invention is that the method of lighting allows for an illuminated adhesive skin sticker that is visible in the dark. The unique method of lighting provides a wearable design for skin that is easy to apply. The innovative illuminated adhesive skin sticker acts as a very effective and durable party accessory for both the day and night time.
[0005]
In one embodiment the method of lighting is LED directing light outwardly from the skin of the user, towards said attached objects to cause them to be illuminated.
[0006]
In one embodiment the attached objects are elliptical shaped acrylic rhinestones secured by said double sided adhesive film.
[0007]
In one embodiment the attached objects are materials such as polymeric materials such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, nylon, ABS, polyester or some kinds of polyoxymethylene.
[0008]
In one embodiment the attached objects are approximately up to 5 inches in size. The attached objects may have a faceted finish on one side and may have a flat back on the other side to sit securely on said double sided adhesive film.
[0009]
In one embodiment the attached objects may be coloured, for examplejhey may be multicoloured, clear, blue and pink, or any colour.
[0010]
In one embodiment the method of lighting is powered by lithium battery.
[0011]
In one embodiment the method of lighting gives off light that may be coloured, for example the lighting may be multi coloured, red, green and blue, or any colour.
[0012]
In one embodiment the method of lighting operates at different speeds and different flashing rates which are controlled in pre-programmed sequences driving the method of lighting; for example, solid light and sequential flashing that may be fast or slow. The user can operate between these different controls by pressing the power switch a certain number of times to flick through the different pre-programmed lighting sequences.
[0013]
In one embodiment the method of lighting is secured by double sided adhesive film placed between the method of lighting and attached objects as illustrated in Figure 2. One side of double sided adhesive film is used to secure the attached objects. The second side of said double sided adhesive film is used to secure the method of lighting and to the skin of the user.
[0014]
In one embodiment the method of lighting is secured by double sided adhesive film placed between the skin of the user and method of lighting. Said method of lighting sits beneath attached objects. One side of said double sided adhesive film is used to secure to the user’s skin. The second side of said double sided adhesive film is used to secure the method of lighting where said method of lighting sits beneath attached objects.
[0015]
In one embodiment the method of lighting is secured by an additional layer of double sided adhesive film placed between the method of lighting and the user’s skin for extra support as illustrated in Figure 1. The illuminated adhesive skin sticker may have two layers of double sided adhesive film with different purposes. One layer of double sided adhesive film is used to secure the attached objects to the method of lighting. The second layer of said double sided adhesive film is used to secure the method of lighting to the skin of the user.
[0016]
In one embodiment the method of lighting is controlled by a switch to power on and off. The said method of lighting can operate by sound activation. The method of lighting will interact with surrounding noises and will flash at the rate of the surrounding noises such as to the beat of music.
[0017]
In one embodiment the method of lighting comprises LED, a connecting conductive material, a power and control box as illustrated in Figure 3. The power and control box comprises a switch, control chip and battery. Said power and control box is connected to LED through a conductive material which may be visible or may be hidden. For example, it may be hidden in the hair of the user and fixed into place in the hair with a clip if the user intends to apply the illuminated adhesive skin sticker to the skin on the user’s face.
[0018]
In one embodiment the method of lighting comprises a power and control box that is small enough to fit within the main body of the illuminated adhesive skin sticker; the body being under a layer of double sided adhesive film, adjacent to the LED and behind the attached objects. There may be no visible connecting wires coming from the illuminated adhesive skin sticker.
[0019]
In one embodiment the method of lighting comprises a conductive connecting wire that is skin coloured so to blend in with the skin of the user.
[0020]
In one embodiment the double sided adhesive film is a flexible material that is approximately a 3 millimetres transparent polyethylene film that may allow light to pass through and may be suitable for dancing and sweating due to said double sided adhesive film being a breathable material.
[0021]
In one embodiment the double sided adhesive film comprises a plastic backing that can be peeled off to expose the adhesive surface of the double sided adhesive film to allow the user to apply it to their skin.
Brief Description of the Drawings [0022]
The invention will be more clearly understood from the following description of an embodiment thereof, given by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:Figure 1. is an illustration of the illuminated adhesive skin sticker for the present invention with method of lighting, attached objects and double sided adhesive film. An additional layer of double sided film is illustrated as being placed between LED and the user’s skin for extra support. The method of lighting directs light towards attached objects to provide illumination
Figure 2. is an illustration of the illuminated adhesive skin sticker for the present invention with double sided adhesive film for fixing LED to the skin, and to attached objects; without an additional layer of double sided adhesive film being placed between LED and the user’s skin for extra support. This illustration depicts LED sitting directly on the user’s skin.
Figure 3. is an illustration of the illuminated adhesive skin sticker for the present invention with a method of lighting comprises LED, a connecting conductive material and a power and control box.
