Abstract

A garment 1 is made from fabric 2 which contains a ceramic material 3 which when heated by the wearers body heat emits far infrared radiation which is radiated back into the wearers body. The ceramic may be woven into the fabric and may contain germanium alloy. A series of pockets 5 may be located adjacent to the wearers joints may contain battery 4 powered transducers 6 producing electromagnetic radiation. The transducers may be a coil around a ferrous coil. The garment may be shaped and size for use by a range of different mammals. The garment is intended to promote blood flow and to relieve ailments such as arthritis.

Description

TITLE: Garment with Far Infrared radiation and/or Magnetic Radiation
The present invention relates to a garment with Far infrared radiation and/or magnetic radiation.
According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a garment for a mammal comprising a fabric extending over the body of a mammal with sleeves covering the elbows and knees (stifle) of the mammal, said fabric including one or more areas of ceramic material which generate Far infrared radiation from radiant heat of the body of a mammal, in use, Far infrared radiation from die ceramic material helping to increase oxygen levels in the mammal to ease medical ailments such as arthritis.
The fabric may be formed with ceramic material (such as germanium alloy) woven into it to generate the Far infrared radiation.
The garment may be adapted to fit a mammal in the form of a dog.
The garment may further include one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation.
Said one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation may be located in a garment to lie adjacent bone joints to ease medical symptoms such as arthritis.
The garment may include a number of pockets into at least some of which can be placed one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation. Said power source or an additional power source may be provided for the transducer/s. The transducer/s may each include an electrical coil optionally around a core.
According to a second aspect of the present invention there is provided a garment for a mammal, said garment having a number of pockets, and one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation for location in one or more of said pockets, and a power source for the transducers, in use radiation from said transducer/s helping to ease medical ailments such as arthritis.
Preferably the garment includes one or more areas of ceramic material which generate Far infrared radiation from radiant heat of the body of a mammal, in use, Far infrared radiation from the ceramic material helping to increase oxygen levels in the mammal to ease medical symptoms such as arthritis.
Preferably the garment comprises a fabric extending over the body of a mammal with sleeves covering the elbows and knees (stifle) of the mammal.
The garment may be formed of a fabric with ceramic (such as germanium alloy) woven into it to generate the Far infrared radiation.
The garment may be adapted to fit a mammal in the form of a dog.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing showing a perspective view of a dog wearing a garment.
Referring to the drawing there is shown a garment 1 for a mammal in the form of a dog.
Garment 1 comprises a fabric 2 extending over the body of the dog with sleeves 1A,1B,1C,1D covering the elbows and knees (stifles) of die dog. Fabric 2 has a ceramic 3 (such as germanium alloy) woven into it. Ceramic 3 converts the mammals heat into Far infrared radiation.
Garment 1 birther includes a number of pockets 5 to lie adjacent bone joints (e.g around the neck, shoulders, hips and stifles and elbows) to ease medical symptoms such as arthritis in the joints. The garment may further include one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation. Located in one or more of the pockets 5 are transducers 6 powered by battery 4, each producing electromagnetic radiation. The transducer/s may each include an electrical coil optionally around a core, such as a ferrous core.
In use, energy emitted from the mammal body is transferred to the ceramic material where it is absorbed, and the ceramic material then emits Far infrared radiation back to the mammal body. The Far infrared radiation from the ceramic 3 helps to increase oxygen levels in the mammal to ease medical ailments such as arthritis, and electromagnetic radiation from the transducers 6 also helping to ease medical ailments such as arthritis at bone joints.
It is envisaged that garment 1 could be produced in different shapes and sizes to suit different types of dogs, and transducers 5 placed in pockets 5 adjacent bone joints needing treatment.
It is envisaged that a garment 1 would normally include both the areas of ceramic 3, as well as one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation (which need not be in pockets but could be secured to the garment by other means).
However the garment could just be produced with pockets to receive transducers. Thus according to a second aspect of the present invention there is provided a garment for a mammal, said garment having a number of pockets, and one or more transducers producing electromagnetic radiation for location in one or more of said pockets, and a power source for the transducers, in use radiation from said transducer/s helping to ease medical ailments such as arthritis.
It is also envisaged that the garment of both aspects of the invention may be designed to suit mammals other than dogs, e.g. cats, horses and other animals, or even humans.
The invention may take a form different to that specifically described above.
Further modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention.
