Abstract

A swimming aid that is worn on the foot of a swimmer. The swimming aid allows the wearer to increase their forward propulsion when swimming in water. The aid also allows the wearer to walk when the wearer is wearing the swimming aid out of the water. The swimming aid is worn on the foot like a slipper, wherein the slipper is flexible to allow for foot movement both in and out of the water. The slipper has a cup shaped moulding at the toe end of the shoe that helps to direct water flow, away from the toe of the wearer, when undulated. Hook and loop straps may be added to help secure the aid to the wearer. Preferably the slipper is made from a flexible plastic compound.

Description
Swimshu is worn on the foot like a slipper and has a sole but its intended use is for swimming.
It is made from a flexible plastic compound which allows it to bend with the foot and can be used to walk while out of water.
SwimShu has a rigid, cup shaped moulding above the toe and should be worn on each foot while swimming.
The cup shaped moulding has a parabolic aperture which helps to direct water flow when undulated.
Velcro straps may be added to help secure to individual.
Swimshu could be manufactured in several sizes or can be tailored to individual as bespoke.
SwimShu is a flexible slipper with a sole and small heel.
SwimShu is made from material suitable for wearing in an aquatic environment, on boats, on the beach or in the pool.
The rigid molded toe has a parabolic shaped aperture wihch helps the wearer while swimming.
Velcro straps may be added to suit individual.

Claims (5)

Claims
1 The flexible slipper allows for foot movement while in and out of the water and the molded toe is rigid.
2 The molded toe has a parabolic shaped aperture which helps direct water flow away from the toe when undulated.
3 When swimming in water the wearer would use smaller leg movements for increased forward propulsion.
4 SwimShu can be worn as a swim aid for all ages or as a replacement for scuba diving fins.
5 SwimShu easier to wear than dive fins alllowing greater manouvreability when out of water wearing dive equipment.
