Abstract
A pram/stroller comprising of a hood 1, cover 2 and body 4 that has been treated with a special ink which has the capability to change colour from a dark coloured material to a light coloured material, allowing maximum sunlight reflection when the pram is outside in direct sunlight preventing the pram from overheating thus ensuring the baby/child inside does not get too hot, irritable and uncomfortable. The materials may use temperature (thermochromic) and/or photochromic sensitive inks. The cover may be detachable allowing it to be removed from the pram via a zip (11, see fig. 11). The pram may comprise poppers (10, see fig 2.) to attach the hood to the pram body.
Description
A Pram/Stroller comprising of sunlight reflecting material.
This invention relates to a pram/ stroller, it relates to the pram having a combination of thermomic and photo sensitive materials embedded within certain part of the material, for example: A standard pram would be comprised of dark materials absorbing sunlight when outside in direct light, this would cause the pram to heat up and causes the baby to become hot.
Accordingly in this present pram invention which has embedded special thermomic and photo sensitive inks within the fabric such as the hood and body cover of the pram, this would enable the pram to change from a dark colour to a light colour thus reflecting the sunlight and not absorbing the light keeping the temperature inside of the pram lower when it is in direct sunlight.
It is well know that dark colours absorb sunlight causing a heating effect and light colours reflect sunlight preventing a heating effect. This pram invention would allow a dark grey coloured pram to change colour to white when it is in direct sunlight, such as in summer time thus reflecting most of the sun's rays keeping the inside of the pram cooler and preventing the baby from inside from becoming overheated.
This invention will now be described using the drawing examples.
Figure 1 shows a side view of the pram/stroller.
Figure 2 shows a side view of the colour changing hood that covers the pram.
Figure 3 shows a bird's eye or top view of the pram cover that would be over the baby/child.
In Figure 1 the pram invention has a retractable colour changing hood comprised of thermomic and or photo sensitive ink technology (1).
The cover of the pram will have the same colour changing properties as the hood (2).
The pram will have standard adjustable handles (3).
The body or base of the pram can also have colour changing inks embedded within the material (4), however the maximum surface area for reaction will come from the hood and cover (1) and (2).
The pram will have standard x frame (5).
The pram will have the ability to house a carry case on the frame (6).
The pram will have a four wheel design (7).
The hood of the pram will have a reinforcement bar to add durability (8).
In Figure 2 the pram shows the colour changing retractable hood (1).
The pram has a reinforcement bar to support holding up the canopy (8).
The pram has clips so it may be attached to the body of the pram (9).
The pram will have poppers to easily attach the body of the pram (10).
Figure 3 the main cover that will go over the top of the pram will be embedded with the thermomic or photochromic colour changing inks for maximum surface sunlight reflection (2).
The cover will be detachable allowing it to be removed from the body of the pram via a sip connection (11).
The pram/stroller will be one of open source design, however the unique parts such as the hood, cover and body will undergo a special application of one or both thermomic and/or photochromic (temperature/light sensitive) inks (1), (2), (4). This would be made by a specialist fabricator. This would allow the pram to retain the heat when inside and stay one colour and when outside on a hot sunny day to change colour, to a light colour reflecting most of the sunrays allowing the pram temperature to stay at a more natural temperature thus ensuring comfort for a baby.
Claims (4)
1. A pram that when in direct sunlight will turn from a dark colour to a light colour thus reflecting maximum sunlight keeping the pram from overheating.
2. A pram that will change colour via the hood canopy (1) when exposed to direct sunlight or heat, allowing maximum reflection keeping the child from overheating.
3. A pram that will change colour from a dark colour to a light colour via the cover (2) allowing the pram and child to stay cool and not over heat.
4. A pram that will change colours from a dark colour(s) to a light colour(s) via the special formula process allowing the body of the pram to reflect and not absorb light or sunrays causing the pram to heat up thus affecting a child's comfort and preventing the risks of sunburn.
