Abstract

A buoy assembly (1) adapted to be attached to a seismic streamer comprises floating means (3), electronic equipment means (7), a power supply (8) and 5 positioning sensor(s) (9). The buoy assembly (1) comprises a substantially rigid tube (10) comprising a first end, (11) an opposite placed second end (12) and a circumferential wall (24). The tube (10) is connected to the floating means (3) in a pivotal connection (13), allowing the tube (10) to pivot in relation to the floating means (3) at 10 least in a direction vertical/horizontal. An acoustic sensor (14) is placed inside or outside the tube (10).
