Description

Single direction brake formed by a plurality of discs stacked together
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a rotatable brake and, more particularly, to a rotatable brake which is applied to a power machine so as to transmit single-direction torque and rotates in a single direction.
Description of the Prior Art A conventional single-direction rotatable brake is configured to avoid reverse driving, i.e. the single-direction rotatable brake transmits torque in a single direction and its driving member idly rotates when in anti-direction, hence the single-direction rotatable brake is applicable for power machines, such as bicycles, motorcycles, or rotary tool which cannot be rotated reversely.
The single-direction rotatable brake contains a body and multiple rolling members, wherein the body is circular and has a fitting face on which multiple accommodation recesses are separately arranged so as to house the multiple rolling members respectively, and the rolling members move and roll in the multiple accommodation recesses individually. In use, the fitting face of the body fits with a rotation element, wherein one of the body and the rotation element is the driving member, and the other of the body and the rotation element is a driven member. When the driving member rotates relative to the driven member in one direction, it drives the driven member to rotate. When the driving member revolves with respect to the driven member in the other direction, it idly rotates relative to the driven member.
However, a requirement of structural strength and accuracy of the multiple accommodation recesses are extremely high, so material of high-hardness is essential. Furthermore, a computer numerical control (CNC) machine is employed to machine the single-direction rotatable brake at high production cost, and the body includes a stopper fitted thereon so as to avoid a removal of the multiple rolling members from the multiple accommodation recesses, thus having inconvenient assembly.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a rotatable brake, a loop of which is formed by multiple hollow discs which stack together, wherein multiple hollow discs of the rotatable brake are stamped, cut, and machined easily and quickly without using a computer numerical control (CNC) machine so as to reduce fabrication cost.
According to the present invention there is provided a rotatable brake as claimed in claim 1.

Each accommodation recess 11 has a disengagement segment 112 defined at a counterclockwise end thereof, and the disengagement segment 112 has a second depth h2, wherein the first depth hi of the engagement segment 111 is less than the second depth h2 of the disengagement segment 112. Each hollow disc 10 includes multiple first orifices 12 arranged between the inner rim and an outer rim of each hollow disc 10 and not communicating with the plurality of accommodation recesses 11. The multiple hollow discs 10 stack together so as to form a loop 10A, wherein the plurality of accommodation recesses 11 correspond to the multiple first orifices 12 individually, and the loop 10A includes a through hole 10B defined on a central position thereof.
The loop 10A includes threads 10C formed on an outer wall thereof.
Each of the plurality of locking members 20 includes a circular column 21 with an outer diameter d1, and each locking member 20 also includes two limitation parts 22 respectively extending outward from two ends thereof, wherein a diameter of each of the two limitation parts 22 is less than the outer diameter d1 of the circular column 21. The circular column 21 of each locking member 20 accommodates in accommodation recesses 11 which are formed by stacking the multiple hollow discs 10 together, wherein the circular column 21 of each locking member 20 moves between the engagement segment 111 and the disengagement segment 112 of each accommodation recess 11.
The two stop caps 30 cover on two surfaces of the loop 10A respectively, each of the two stop caps 30 includes multiple elongated dead apertures 31 corresponding to the plurality of accommodation recesses 11 individually, wherein the length of each of the multiple elongated dead apertures 31 matches with the first depth hi of the engagement segment 111 and the second depth h2 of the disengagement 112, and each elongated dead aperture 31 has a notch 32 not passing through each elongated dead aperture 31 and adjacent to the disengagement segment 112. Each stop cap 30 further includes multiple second orifices 33 corresponding to the multiple first orifices 12 of each hollow disc 10 individually, wherein the two limitation parts 22 of each locking member 20 are located in each elongated dead aperture 31, and the two stop caps 30 fix the plurality of locking members 20.
Each of the multiple springs 40 is housed in the notch 32 of each elongated dead aperture 31 and pushes each limitation part 22 of each locking member 20 so that each locking member 20 abuts against each elongated dead aperture 111.
Each of the multiple connection posts 50 connects with each of the multiple second orifices 33 via each of the multiple first orifices 12 so as to connect the multiple hollow discs 10 and the two stop caps 30 together.
Each stop cap 30 further includes at least one fixing disc 30A and a covering disc 30B which are made of metal material and are plane, wherein each elongated dead aperture 31 and the notch 32 of each elongated dead aperture 31 are defined on the at least one fixing disc 30A, and the covering disc 30B is away from the loop 10A and does not pass through each elongated dead aperture 31 and the notch 32.
