Abstract
A motorised kitchen waste bin G mounted within a cupboard A, having a moving carriage F supporting the garbage receptacle, which automatically moves the bin out of the cabinet on opening of the cabinet door C, and moves the bin into the cabinet on closing the door. Additionally the rubbish bin lid H automatically opens and closes. The moving carriage is motor propelled along slides E on the cupboard base I. The entire device is powered by rechargeable batteries. There is a start sensor J activated when the cabinet door is opened, and a reset sensor activated on closing of the door. These can be proximity sensors or press switches.

(54) Title of the Invention: Electromechanical automatic kitchen bin and bin lid Abstract Title: Motorised kitchen waste bin mounted within a cupboard (57) A motorised kitchen waste bin G mounted within a cupboard A, having a moving carriage F supporting the garbage receptacle, which automatically moves the bin out of the cabinet on opening of the cabinet door C, and moves the bin into the cabinet on closing the door. Additionally the rubbish bin lid H automatically opens and closes. The moving carriage is motor propelled along slides E on the cupboard base I. The entire device is powered by rechargeable batteries. There is a start sensor J activated when the cabinet door is opened, and a reset sensor activated on closing of the door. These can be proximity sensors or press switches.

On demand, when an attempt is made to shut the cabinet door, a slight contact mails by the door towards the carriage supporting resat sensor {Drawing No__2_) w;h unlatch the circuit, resetting th® cyefe to rovers® and remain in a dormant rntxie.

Opening the cabinet door activates the start sensor located io bon· of she base {Of awing No 1 5 which in turn latches the control circuit, initiating the motor to turn docswise to propel the carriage forward.
Forward motion is achieved by the motorised indexing arm rotating clockwise, attached to e peg engaging a channel supported by a pair of linear bearings. Rotation of the arm will cause the channel linked to tbs carriage above to psopei forward, and on dosing the cabinet door wih casjse it to reverse,

Forward motion is achieved by tbs mechanical geometry using a push rod, one end pivoted to the rotating arm, and tbs other end pivoted to a peg under t he carriage. Rotation c;f the arm will cause the push rod pegged to tbs carriage above so p?opei the carriage forward, and on closing the cabinet door will cause it to reverse.

As a precaution against obstacle in front of carriage, should a load in .excess of 2SD mA for duration of 10 seconds occur, a PTC ( polyswitch) Is employed to go high until reset.
