Abstract
Ladies footwear has an upper body Fig 1,A, a sole Fig 1,B and a detachable heel Fig 1,C. The heel may be attached to the remainder of the shoe via grooved form 4 that affixes to a hole Fig 2, 2. When the heel is removed from the shoe a blanking insert, plug or grommet Fig 4, 5 may be inserted into the hole to prevent damage or dirt entering the hole. The plug may be grooved Fig 4, 6. The heels may be removed to allow the shoe to convert from high heels to a low or flat type of shoe Fig 5.

DETACHABLE - HEEL SHOE
This invention relates to Detachable-heel shoe.
Many people wear shoes with high heels. Wearing shoes with high heels for prolonged period of time puts strain on the foot, calf muscles and low back giving pain in the low back, leg muscles and the feet. Such symptoms can be mild or severe. In some people the symptoms can become chronic needing medical help.
A break in time of wearing high-heeled shoes is advantageous to ease these symptoms. However it is difficult to switch from wearing high -heeled shoes to flat-heeled shoes intermittently due to the social circumstances of the wearer.
It is uncomfortable to drive a vehicle wearing high-heeled shoes. This necessitates high-heeled shoe wearer to have another pair of shoes with flat-heel soles available in the vehicle while driving.
Wearing continuously high-heeled shoes while working several hours in an office can be reduced by changing the shoes.
Such actions need a second pair of shoes with flat heels.
The present invention solves the problem of such inconvenience by allowing the wearer of highheeled shoes to convert easily and quickly such shoes into flat heeled shoes when needed without the necessity of carrying an extra pair of shoes with flat heels.
See FIGURE 1
The high-heeled shoe has three components A, B and C in the diagram.
COMPONENT A
This is the upper. This part holds the shoe on to the foot of the wearer.
COMPONENT B
See Figure 1 and 2. This is the sole of the shoe. This is the bottom part of the shoe and comes in contact with the ground when walking.
The front part of the sole is marked 1 in the diagram.
The hind part of the sole of the shoe has a circular opening (marked 2) of a cylindrical hollow which extends deep into the sole.
The cylindrical hollow deep in the sole is not visible in the diagram but only its circular opening on the sole is visible.
The cylindrical hollow whose circular opening is visible on the surface of the sole is grooved on its inner wall.
The circular opening of the cylindrical hollow in the sole is for inserting the detachable-heel.
COMPONENT C
See Figure 3. The detachable-heel has an upper end (marked 4 in the diagram) and a lower end (marked 3 in the diagram).
The upper end (marked 4) has a cylindrical projection in its middle.
The cylindrical projection has grooves on its outer surface.
The cylindrical projection at the upper end of the detachable-heel is inserted into the circular opening of the hollow in the heel end of the sole, (marked 2)
COMPONENT D
See Figure 4. This is hole-protector. The hole-protector has two parts. A circular base plate (marked 5 in the diagram) and central cylindrical projection (marked 6 in the diagram). The cylindrical projection has grooves on its outer surface.
When the detachable-heel of the shoe is removed from the sole of the shoe the hole-protector is inserted into the hollow in the sole of the shoe to prevent dirt entering into the hollow of the sole.
When the detachable high heel is to be attached to the sole of the shoe the hole-protector is removed first from the hollow.
ASSEMBLED SHOE
Figure 1 is shown with the detachable-heel attached to the hind part of the sole of the shoe. Figure 5 shows the shoe with the detachable-heel inserted into the sole (marked 3 in the diagram) and removed but the hole-protector fitted into the hollow of the sole (marked 5). T he detachable-heel is attached to the sole of the shoe by inserting the cylindrical projection of its upper end into the opening of the hollow in the sole and turning it to enter the grooved hollow. The Figure 5 shows the conversion of the high-heeled shoe into a flat-heeled shoe.
ADVANTAGES
When the detachable-heel is attached to the sole of the shoe the height of the heel part of the shoe is increased.
When high heel is not needed, the detachable-heel can be removed from the shoe and the shoe is converted into a flat- heeled shoe.
The choice is given to the wearer to alter the height of the heel without the need to carry two pairs of shoes.
Carrying the detachable -heels and the hole- protectors in a bag or pouch is easier than carrying an extra pair of shoes.
