The cutting mechanism comprises a circular cutting wheel (2, fig 1) fixed by an axle or a fixed blade. The waste packaging is diverted by a roller (7, fig 1) and collected via a separate channel into a detachable receptacle 14 via a specific aperture at the bottom of the diversion channel 5. The utility storage component 10 interconnects with 1 to form a complete system for retaining and opening packages.

Sealed packet opening and storage device.
The invention relates to a device for opening sealed packaging which interconnects to a utility storage facility.
With the advent of new nutrition products for sporting activities in the form of, but not limited to gel substances, multiple sporting activities now promote the benefits of using such products to enhance performance in sporting and physical activities.
The options for opening for such products are limited to the manual use of two hands or to use teeth to tear open packaging. Either option can prove problematic if, using gloves in cold conditions or a clean tear is not achieved at the first attempt using teeth for instance as can the packaging can become slippery or even be dropped during the attempted opening operation.
This can lead to hazardous situations specifically when cycling at speed in a competitive environment. This can also lead to littering if the torn of piece of packaging lost due to speed of cycle. For running and other pursuits and activities, the same situation applies.
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a device which can be attached to equipment to enable the opening of packaging by the use of a single hand operation, thus achieving a 'clean cut' opening facility with receptacle for the waste packaging and interconnected utility storage facility.
This invention has been designed to overcome the problematic issues for sporting and active pursuits by enabling the simple 'cutting open' action of such packing with a single hand operation.
The advantage of this action allows for a safer and quicker way to access the contents of such packaging.
Another advantage is the automatic collection of the discarded packing section reducing environmental waste.
Another advantage is the modular design of the components allows for the device to be dismantled and reassembled allowing for regular cleaning.
A further advantage of the modular design means the cutting apparatus can be replaced
The advantage for the user in an activity or sporting environment is the reduced effort required to operate the device which also increases safety, especially when utilised for cycling.

An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings:

Detailed description
The cutting device assembly 1 has interconnecting points to attach to the utility storage component 10 which can then be attached to equipment such as a cycle or bag through apertures 13 by way of straps or similar mechanism.
The cutting device assembly 1 is comprised of a right hand side component 6 with interconnecting points to attach to the left hand side component 8 to form the overall cutting device assembly 1.
When the right hand component 6 and the left hand side component 8 are interconnected to form the overall assembly 1, an aperture is created 4 to allow packaging to be entered to access the cutting mechanism 2. The cutting mechanism 2 can be by way of circular cutting wheel fixed by an axel or by way of fixed blade. As the packaging passed through the aperture 4, the top is sliced open as it passed over the cutting mechanism 2.
The discarded piece of packaging is then channelled between the bottom angled slope diversion mechanism 3 of the right hand side component 6 and the top angled slope diversion mechanism 9 of the left hand side component 8. As the waste passes through the formed channel of 3 and 9, it is grabbed and pulled through the by an integrated roller mechanism 7 which uses the force applied by the user to assist in manoeuvring the packaging waste through the waste aperture 5.
Once the top of the packaging is completely severed, the retained packaging in hand will have passed completely through the aperture 4 whilst the waste is collected as described above and retained into the detachable collection receptacle 14.
The cutting device assembly 1 attaches to the utility storage component 10 by way of interconnecting points to enable a combined facility for use on equipment as but not limited to a cycle frame, a carry bag, sport utility belt as examples.
The utility storage component 10 has recess areas 11 to which packaging can be inserted and held in place by way of a sprung loaded retaining mechanism 12. This allows for packaging to hold in place without the need for external fixing mechanisms or materials.
All aspects of the operation of the combined cutting device assembly 1 and the utility storage component 10 can be used by a single hand operation allowing for enhanced access to packaging contents and increased safety capability by retaining a hand on the cycle steering mechanism if utilised for this particular activity and configuration.
The modular construction of the cutting device assembly 1, utility storage 10 and receptacle for waste material 14 enable for the individual components to be cleaned separately and re assembled for the next usage.
