Abstract

There are described measurement systems and method for measuring particle entrainment in a fluid flow. In some example, first and second sensor arrangements are used to provide an impaction signals associated with particle impaction at a defined impact region in a flow conduit and a flow signal associated with noise of fluid flow in a fluid conduit. The impaction signal and flow signal may be used in order to measure particle entrainment in a fluid flow within a flow conduit.In some examples, the system is wireless and configured to provide particle entrainment data at particular sample intervals. In some examples, the system is configured such that, upon receipt of a reference signal, the system can modify characteristics of subsequently received impaction signals or flow signals, accordingly.
