SHOWER HEAD WITH ADJUSTABLE SPRAY PRESSURE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION [0001] The present invention relates to a bathroom accessory, and more particularly to a shower head.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] For a conventional shower head on the market, the same outlet thereon only can spray a single pattern of water in which the spray pressure will increase as the pressure of the inlet water increases and the spray pressure will decrease as the pressure of the inlet water decreases. When the water pressure does not match with the outlets of the shower head, the user will feel uncomfortable.
[0003] Shower heads having spray pressure increase function are commercially available. The pressurized water flows out from the central portion of the shower head, and the gentle water flows out from the circumferential portion of the shower head. Its water outlet pressure can be adjusted in response to the unstable pressure of the flow. However, spray area is decreased greatly in the adjustment, greatly reducing the shower comfort.

[0012] Preferably, the shower head further comprises a positioning assembly provided between the rear member and the support element and a positing hole formed on the support element, wherein the positioning assembly includes a torsion spring and a steel ball, and the torsion spring and the steel ball are mounted in the positioning hole.
[0013] Preferably, the spray disc is provided with an adjustment lever.
[0014] The invention has the following advantageous effects in comparison with the prior art:
[0015] The discharge plate cooperates with the support element. The spacing of the discharge plate from the discharge disc is adjustable in response to a change of the water pressure, thereby adjusting pressure of the flow outputted from the outlets. Pressure of the outlet water is increased when pressure of the inlet water is low, and pressure of the outlet water remains normal when pressure of the inlet water is high. This ensures that a user taking a shower can feel a degree of comfort irrespective of pressure change of inlet water.
[0016] For adjusting pressure of the outlet water, the user may turn the adjustment lever of the spray disc to adjust the spacing of the discharge plate relative to the discharge disc, thereby changing pressure of the outlet water by changing diameters of the outlets with water flowing through. This does not decrease spray area in the adjustment of pressure of outlet water and ensures that a user taking a shower can feel a degree of comfort.

The discharge disc 3 is attached to the spray disc 4. The spray disc 4 is provided with an adjustment lever 40 and a plurality of outlets 41 thereon. The discharge disc 3 has a plurality of discharge holes 30 corresponding to the outlets 41. The spray disc 4 is connected to the rear member 2, and an outlet chamber is defined between the spray disc 4 and the rear member 2. The shower head further comprises a spray pressure adjustment mechanism. The spray pressure adjustment mechanism includes a discharge plate 5 disposed between the rear member 2 and the discharge disc 3 and a support element 6 disposed between the rear member 2 and the housing 1. The discharge plate 5 is formed with a plurality of apertures 50 corresponding in position to the outlets 41. The diameter of each aperture 50 is less than that of the outlets 41. The support element 6, the rear member 2, and the discharge plate 5 each have a water intake to be connected with each other. The discharge plate 5 cooperates with the support element 6, enabling the discharge plate 5 to be moved towards or away from the discharge disc 3 for adjusting spray pressure. The support element 6 is fixed on the housing 1. The housing 1 is provided with an inlet 10. A spring 7 and a sealing cup 8 are provided between the inlet 10 and the water intake of the support element 6. A positioning assembly 9 is provided between the rear member 2 and the support element 6. The positioning assembly 9 includes a torsion spring 90 and a steel ball 91. The support element 6 is formed with a positioning hole 60. The torsion spring 90 and the steel ball 91 are mounted in the positioning hole 60.
[0026] Referring to Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, the discharge plate 5 is provided with a plurality of adjustment pegs 51. Each adjustment pegs 51 is sleeved with a return spring 52. The rear member 2 is formed with through holes 20. The adjustment pegs 51 are inserted through the through holes 20 and connected to the support element 6. The support element 6 is provided with a plurality of adjustment holes 61 and adjustment assemblies 62. Each of the adjustment holes 61 includes a circular hole 610 and a guide slot 611 connected with the circular hole 610.
