Abstract

Ornamental metalwork. - Ornamental covers for electric switch &c. boxes comprise a member b of thin gauge metal which is adapted to be stamped, pressed or otherwise formed with the desired ornamentations and then combined with a backing or supporting member a of thick gauge metal adapted to bear the stresses which are imposed in fixing the cover in position. The two members may be secured together by soldering, riveting &c., and the ornamental plate b provided with a flange d which extends around the periphery of the supporting plate a. Both plates may be provided with a central perforation g so that the cover may be clamped on over the outstanding ring of a tumbler switdh, the members a and b being secured together by soldering around their junction f within the aperture g and around the junction e at the rear of the flange d.
