Abstract
A fishing rod with a spring mechanism situated inside the barrel 1 of the rod, used to propel a fishing line when casting. The fishing rod is a hollow tube with a rear screw cap 11. The thrust mechanism comprises a cushion spring 3and a tension spring 5, a spring winding spool 7 with winding system 9, 10, and a spring biased locking mechanism 15 with pin trigger 16, 18. The spring mechanism tension can be set to different levels to achieve the desired distance of propulsion of the fishing line, as indicated by a set of locking pins 19. The apparatus can only be used when the rod is fully constructed; the spring mechanism is deactivated if the front section of rod is removed. In another embodiment the thrust mechanism is set by pushing the front section of rod back into the main barrel of the rod. In other embodiments, the thrust mechanism does not use a spring, and instead may use an electrical or battery operated power source, compressed air canisters or hydraulic pressure.
Description
Spring loaded fishing rod
The invention relates to a fishing rod capable of catapulting fishing line a great deal further having tension spring wind in and release mechanism.
The invention seeks to provide every fisherman to cast a fishing line as far as they can into deeper water trying to hook in bigger fish or casting the fishing line away from fellow fishermen having almost similar range and distance competing within the same area for the same fish. This invention allows a great deal of flexibility for children, adults, women, pensioners, disable person, people having difficulty with normal over the shoulder swing of the fishing rod, wherein spring wind in and release system will do all the work such as for example, deep sea fishing from the beach and or boosting ordinary over the shoulder swing to extra ordinary swing by combining two outwards forces achieving even further distances.
According to one aspect of the invention there is provided a fishing rod of any suitable material including a rear screw cap, or the front screw cap from which the fully assembled spring system is inserted into the main barrel comprising of front cushion spring and the rear main tension spring attached or fixed to the threaded stud assembly to which the front rod is screwed on prior to using the fishing rod, spring winding spool with cord/wire attachment to stud assembly locking plate which is spooled back as required to the spring tension setting for example 10, 20, 30 and so on extra feet or meters achieved, locked in position by the spring biased press down pin which is released by any one of the single release mechanisms connected by cord/wire and situated at a convenient point on the main barrel. The locking pins being spring biased and all connected by the locking strip will indicate the main spring tension setting to the user by pushing each pin barrel upwards and holding it in position by the spring biased horseshoe plate as the main spring is spooled backwards and or not shown in the embodiment is the side slot showing the movement of the locking plate as the spring mechanism is spooled backwards along the main barrel.
Advantageously for safety reasons the apparatus will only be activated when the front rod is screwed on and deactivated upon unscrewing the front rod and or longer main barrel to facilitate the storage of front rod locked in position.
Advantageously and or alternatively the apparatus can include a lighter tension spring, a single setting locking and release pin, a single unit front rod pushed back manually into the main barrel to the single locking/releasing mechanism, with or without spring winding.
It will be apparent to the skilled person that modifications can be made to the above embodiments that still fall within the scope of the invention, for example using electrical power source, battery operated, compressed air canisters, hydraulic pressure, and any similar mechanism capable of injecting, firing, shooting, catapulting a fishing line, or using cord/wire attached and similar pull out pin release systems for disable person, and or spring mechanism easily used in existing fishing rods with few minor adjustments, etc, etc.
Embodiments of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein;
Figures la - d are schematic views of the embodiment of the invention;
Figure la is a schematic view of the embodiment showing spring action mechanism, spring winding systems, spring locking systems, spring releasing systems, apparatus assembly;
Figure lb and lc is a schematic view of the embodiment showing a single pin lock/release;
Figure Id is illustration showing normal over the shoulder swing distance, spring mechanism distance for disable people and people having difficulty casting the fishing rod.
Figure 1 shows the spring loaded fishing rod apparatus in accordance with invention. The apparatus includes double skin main barrel 1, threaded stud assembly 2, impact cushion spring 3, locking disc 4, main tension spring 5, cord/wire 6, spool 7, spool slot 8, various spring winding systems 9, engage/disengage spring winding disc 10, rear threaded screw cap 11, screw on front rod 12, locking pins 13, channell4, spring biased locking strip having horseshoe locking plates 15, spring biased release pin 16, channel cover 17, press down handle release system 18, distance indicating locking pins 19, single skin barrel 20, single locking/releasing pin 21, single light strength spring 22, single unit front rod 23, front screw cap 24, front rod locking mechanism 25, long barrel storage for front rod 26, rear screw cap spring winding disc with lock and release mechanism 27, double force over the shoulder and spring release casting 28, disable person spring action casting 29, single pin/spring action 30.
The fishing rod apparatus comprises of double skin/ channel grooved main barrel 1, housing a complete spring mechanism consisting of front threaded stud assembly 2, to which all the components are attached or fixed, front impact cushioning spring 3, pin locking disc 4, main tension spring 5, cord/wire 6, leading to the spring winding spool 7, which slides into the provided slots on the main barrel 8, and or using any one of the similar spring winding and releasing mechanisms 9, having rear spring winding, double cord/wire, cogs and spools, or tiny disc with flip out handle 10, which act as engage and disengage mechanism, and the whole spring mechanism is ready to be inserted into the main barrel and locked in by the rear screw cap 11, front rod 12, is screwed onto the threaded stud assembly to activate the whole apparatus, spooling in the main spring and the attached front rod engaging pins 13, situated in top channel 14, to the desired tension setting 19, ready for release with any one of the releasing mechanism 16,18, 21, 27, and similar and or fig lb, single skin barrel 20, single lock/release 21, single front rod manual push in system 23, front screw cap 24, and fig lc, rear pull out engage and push in disengage spring winding disc, single lock/release.
Advantageously the apparatus of spring loaded fishing rod allows the flexibility of casting a fishing line a great deal further then normal over the shoulder swing especially for people having difficulty, disable people, children and so on being apparent to the skilled person that modifications can be made to the above embodiments that still fall within the scope.
