Jacks. - A lifting-jack of the kind having a lifting screw C, and a nut B, rotatable on the screw by means such as a bevel pinion E, has the frame formed of two side pillars A connecting the base F and the nut supporting table H, the parts being of such a section that the frame can be made as a forging. The connection between the pillars A, Fig. 2, and the square plate J on the lower end of the screw may be a rib and slot connection such as M or each pillar may have a curved protuberance entering a slot in the plate.
