Description

HAIR CARE DEVICE
This invention primarily relates to hair care, it is suited to any hair styling, in particular a device that can help solve problems when styling damaged, thin or knotted hair. I would like to make reference in part to a previous Patent application GB1503343.4
The word ‘bristle’ within the embodiment of this invention relates to a shape of a material that protrudes from the surface of the body material. This protruding material has a sole intended purpose of being pushed through animal or human hair to alter the hairs appearance commonly refereed to as grooming or styling. It is the object of this invention to give a choice to all users of hair care devices, with the newly configured rhomboid shape. A rhomboid configuration consists of the four sides that come together to a sharp point as they intersect. A bristle with this configuration in a single row and in a close proximity to opposing bristle will cause a scissor effect on hair being groomed. The aim of this invention is to create a new rhomboid shape by adding substantial radii at the four intersecting points and by spacing the bristles apart in multiple rows eliminate hair being restricted while grooming producing a pleasant hair grooming experience. The bristle as described here in, are flexible unlike a rigid tooth of a comb, and have been specificity designed for styling or grooming human or animal hair.
It is well known that hair brushes are available with bristles that are short, tall, stiff, and some flexible, however most have round bristles. It is the object of this invention to solve a problem that occurs with using round bristles. When round bristles come in contact with hair whilst styling a resistance between the projected area of the round bristle and the hair being styled is created. The greater the resistance, the greater the amount of stress put on the hair and discomfort from styling experienced. The contact resistance by the hair and the bristle has been solved with a diamond shape tapered hair brush bristle that is equally effective for human hair as it is for animal hair styling.
This invention solves the problem by the V shape on the bristle, this V shape is mirrored by an opposing V shape hence a diamond shape bristle is created. The point of the diamond shape bristle reduces the resistance to the hair being styled, it does this by parting the hair as opposed to pushing the hair aside in the way a round bristles does. The effect of the newly designed rhomboid V shape tapered bristle untangles hair more easily and less stressfully as designed in this hair care device and as described in this invention.
Advantageously the diamond shaped bristles give less resistance when styling hair. The hair care device may be used for hair that has become knotted reducing the risk of hair being pulled out from the users scalp when styling. The said diamond tapered bristles are position in an equally distanced formation to each other in multiple rows. The bristles are not in close proximity to other opposing bristle, this stops a scissor effect on hair being groomed, combined with the multiple rows and spacing the new problem shape bristle has a substantial radii at the four intersecting points this helps to produce a pleasant grooming experience.
The diamond shaped bristles are moulded in flexible moulded plastic.
The present invention here in relates to a design to have for a comfortable method of grooming or styling hair. The said bristles being incorporated in a hand brush but not specifically that incorporate the new rhomboid diamond shaped bristles for any hair care purpose.
An embodiment of this present invention will now be more particularly described by way of example and reference to the accompanying drawings pages 1/1,
Fig 1 shows a plan view of the diamond shaped bristles positioned in an equally distanced formation to each other in multiple rows as described according to the invention.
Fig 2 is a third angle projection drawing of the enlarged diamond shaped bristle as The said bristles will be approximately 14 mm high ( 5h ) and have a dimension across the widest point of the diamond shape V at the top of bristle of 1.25 mm ( 5f) and a dimension across the narrowest point of the diamond shape V at the top of the bristle of .75mm (5g) The larger diamond shape of the bristle at the root has a dimension across the widest point of the diamond shape V of 1.75 mm ( 5d ) and across the narrowest point of the diamond shape V of 1.25 mm (5e ) as described and in according to the invention.
Fig 3 is a sketch projection drawing of an enlarged diamond shaped bristle as shown in fig 1 and 2 this enlarged three dimensional elevation of the diamond shape bristle shows 5a full radius on the top of the diamond shape. This radius eliminates any discomfort on the scalp and ensures smooth styling on the scalp, 5b shows the four corners with substantial blend radius that run from top to bottom this sketch projection section highlights the new rhomboid bristle shape. Also shown is the tapered diamond bristle blending into a larger radius 5c at the bottom of the diamond shape. The larger radius 5c gives strength to the bristle and ensures the bristles return to their original upright position after styling.
The diamond shaped bristle, has been developed by studying how hair brushes throughout the world achieve their purpose. The hair care device described in this invention takes advantage of innovative brush design and versatility, more importantly the care of hair especially for people with problem hair, but not exclusively. The said diamond tapered bristles are position in an equally uniform distanced formation to each other as in Fig 1 and are as described in their chosen range of parameters within the embodiment of the design, but they can be in a range of spacing from 4 mm to 15 mm from center to center of the aligned bristle in any direction. The bristles can also be in an inclusive angular range between 2.5 degrees to 45 degrees The chosen inclusive angle from the V peak projects equally length sides that terminate in expansion at the halfway position of the bristle The same inclusive angle V equally length sides being at 180 degrees when aligned a width dimension can be determined The 180 degrees opposing V peaks of the bristle come into contact with hair first in the direction of brushing or styling have a width dimension range at the top of the V to opposing 180 degree V of .05 mm to 5 mm and at the bottom of the V to opposing 180 degree V of 1 mm to 5 mm. These inclusive angles will always be the same on both halves of the bristle to create a uniform geometric shape and will have a width determined by the inclusive angle of the V to its opposing half of the V shape. The equal halves of the V shape where they join at the intersecting middle will have a range of width’s at the top of .05 mm to 3 mm and at the bottom of the bristle of .05 to 5 mm The bristle can also be in range of heights of 5 mm to 45 mm and in addition a range of tapers ranging from top to bottom of the bristle which can be .025 degrees to 25 degrees inclusive The impotent’s of the bristle ranges for the pitch positioning, inclusive V angles, the heights , and the inclusive taper angle is to preserve the uniformity of the semi flexible diamond shape brush bristle in designs to ensure the unique hair brush styling qualities of the bristle as described in this invention.
Fig 3 also shows the four corners 5 b with substantial blend radius that run from top to bottom this section and highlights the new rhomboid bristle shape. The radii 5b can be in a range for 5d and 5e of .025 mm to .05 mm and for 5f an 5g 03 mm to .05 The rhomboid configuration consists of the four sides that come together as a sharp point at their intersection. The new rhomboid shape in this design overcomes the trapping of hair and objects sometimes found in hair by the bristle spacing, multiple rows and the addition of a substantial radii at the four intersecting points. The bristles encourage smooth hair styling while grooming, producing a pleasant grooming experience for humans or animals.
The diamond shaped bristle, has been developed by studying how hair brushes throughout the world achieve their purpose. The hair care device described in this invention takes advantage of innovative brush design and versatility, more importantly the care of hair especially for people with problem hair, but not exclusively. For example, this invention is in principle like the stern of a boat. When a boat travels backwards through water the stern being a wider portion of the boat is resisted in travel by its shape pushing through the water, adversely the V shaped bow of the boat parts the water around the boat as it travels smoothly forward with reduced resistance. The same principle applies for the diamond shaped bristle, the hair being styled is parted by the V of the diamond which is facing the direction of normal brushing motion, for left handed users the diamond shape is mirrored in the opposite direction.
In summary, round shaped bristles commonly used in styling hair are not unlike the stern of a boat for example round bristle brushes when styling hair encounter more resistance from the hair as it is styled this can cause tugging, knotting and in some cases hair pulling out of the scalp, as sometimes seen on brushes after styling. Due to the material nature it is not recommended to use in conjunction with a hot air blow dryer, this could result in damaging the diamond shaped bristles, a warm blow dryer is acceptable
The object of this invention has been to demonstrate the advantages of the diamond shape tapered bristle with a new designed rhomboid configured bristle. The new shape rhomboid in this design and in multi rows does not overcome the trapping of very small foreign objects or parasites (nits) sometimes unwontedly found in hair. The bristle spacing, multiple bristle rows and the addition of a substantial radii at the four intersecting points of the rhomboid combine to make a smoother grooming bristle for any hair care devices.
This hair care device has been invented and designed to be user friendly and to achieve amongst other claims a device for improving hair grooming and styling whether it is animal or human hair.
