Abstract
The present invention provides methods, procedures and systems which may find application in the detection of seizures including, for example epileptic seizures. The methods of the present invention comprise the step of determining the percentage difference between heart rate measurements of a subject, wherein a percentage difference between heart rate measurements indicates that a seizure is about to occur or is occurring. The systems of the present invention comprise means for determining the percentage difference between heart rate measurements of a subject, wherein if the heart rates differ, the system reports the occurrence of a seizure. This invention also provides devices comprising a system according to this invention.
