Abstract
A construction panel comprising first and second outer layers, preferably exterior and interior substrates 1.5 and 1.6, an insulated layer, preferable expanded foam 1.4, sandwiched between the two outer layers, the panel having at least one integral feature, which may be conduits 1.3 for routing services such as electrical wiring, fixings for attachment of furniture such as shelves (Fig. 2.0), a window (Fig. 3.0), storage such as a cupboard (Fig. 4.0), lighting such as spotlights (Fig 5.0), heating and cooling pipe work (Fig. 6.0), ventilation conduits (Fig. 7.0) or an energy generation device such as a photovoltaic solar cell. There may be a vertical profiled side member 1.1 allowing attachment to adjacent panels and a horizontal profiled side member 1.2 allowing mating with beams/lintels of a construction, the side members forming a water resistant seal, the horizontal side member having a foam injection port 1.9 and a breather or vent port 1.10. The panel may form part of a buildings external or internal wall, floor or roof, or an exhibition stand.

Multifunctional Panel comprising; foam interior and structural and/or decorative substrate to inner and outer surfaces with integral pipework to allow for the passage of warm water for underfloor and ‘warm-walls' or coolant for refrigeration. A conductive substrate acts to increase transfer of heat/cooling from pipes and may be perforated, to allow foam to pass though substrate and bond to interior substrate when using the SIP construction process.
Surface materials include; High Pressure Laminate (HPL) either thin or solid, Wooden sheets (MDF, OSB, Plywood, etc.) either painted or vinyl covered, metal sheets (steel, aluminium etc.), plastic sheet (PVC, acrylic etc.), and glass. 6.1 Panel Side - Vertical 6.2 Panel Side - Horizontal 6.3 Insulation
Expanded foam or similar insulative material. 6.4 Exterior Substrate
Structural and/or decorative substrate of various thicknesses and materials. 6.5 Interior Substrate
Structural and/or decorative substrate of various thicknesses and materials. Typically wooden substrate for floors that may be covered with additional finished surfaces, e.g. laminate flooring for floors or ceramic tiles for walls and floors. Optional if used with ‘floating floors’.
Typically powder coated steel for walls in refrigerated rooms or cold stores. 6.6 Pipework
Pipework to allow the flow of warm water, from a boiler or other heating source, or to allow the flow of coolant from a compressor or refrigeration unit. 6.7 Conductive Substrate
Conductive substrate to increase transfer of heating/cooling from pipework. Conductive substrate may be perforated for use with SIP construction process.
Alternatively, pipework (6.6) and conductive substrate (6.7) may be replaced with electric underfloor heating mats, or thick film resistive coating on glass, as an alternative heating method.

FEATURES
Multifunctional Panel comprising; foam interior and structural and/or decorative substrate to inner and outer surfaces with integral conduit & pipework to allow for ventilation, warm-air heating, air conditioning with optional heat-exchanger (heat-recovery) pump.
Surface materials include; High Pressure Laminate (HPL) either thin or solid, Wooden sheets (MDF, OSB, Plywood, etc.) either painted or vinyl covered, metal sheets (steel, aluminium etc.), plastic sheet (PVC, acrylic etc.), and glass. 7.1 Panel Side - Vertical 7.2 Panel Side - Horizontal 7.3 Insulation
Expanded foam or similar insulative material. 7.4 Exterior Substrate
Structural and/or decorative substrate of various thicknesses and materials. 7.5 Interior Substrate
Structural and/or decorative substrate of various thicknesses and materials. 7.6 Pipework
Pipework or conduit to allow the flow of warm or cool air from interior/exterior either directly or via a heater, air conditioning unit heat-exchanger for ventilation. 7.7 Ventilation Grill
Grill to control ingress and exit of fresh/stale air either side of a panel. 7.8 Heater/Heat Exchanger/Air conditioner
Integral heater, heat exchanger or air conditioning unit to warm, pre-warm, or cool air as it enters/exits through the ventilation grills.
