Abstract
A tent peg cap comprising a domed handle having a central aperture that will receive a tent peg for placement in the ground. The cap will preferably have a further angled hole which will enable the insertion of a removal handle to facilitate the withdrawal of peg and cap from said ground. The cap will preferably have a horizontal groove which will enable the attachment of guy lines. The cap will preferably have a reinforced top to facilitate hammering said cap into hardened ground. The cap will also preferably be constructed from plastic, composites, wood metal or similar durable materials and will preferably be brightly coloured to ensure high visibility.
Description
Description
Currently caravan awning pegs consist of a large typically steel nail with a flimsy and hard to insert / remove cap attached to the awning guy lines. The caps that are included with the peg break easily and cannot be purchased as separate components, resulting unusable but completely undamaged nails.
This idea is a replacement cap that fits onto the existing 'nail' that is stronger, more durable, more substantial with an ergonometric design better suited older customers.
The overall design (Fig 1) ensures a secure and comfortable grip enabling the user to be able to handle & pull the pin easily. Although designed for all, it has been specially targeted at people who may struggle to grip, hold or handle small and or awkwardly shaped objects.
The cap is to be manufactured from a wide range of materials, including plastic, composites, wood and metal and can be coloured / patterned to the customers' requirements and includes the option to have increased grip material / coatings (Fig 2)
There is an angled slot machined into the cap to allow the use of a pull hook and/or handle to remove the peg (Fig 3)
The top of the cap (Fig 4) is reinforced to allow for the peg to be hammered into harder ground and has the option to be enhanced with a high visibility / fluorescent coating to enable better visibility in poor visibility / low light.
There is a groove cut into the cover to enable guy ropes / strings etc to be simply 'hooked' over the peg if required (Fig 5)
Claims (8)

2. A cap that has been designed to be simpler and more comfortable to hold, especially for older or more infirm to insert and remove from the ground
3. A cap that has specific angled hole through to enable the insertion of a puller / handle to remove the peg
4. A cap that has a deep groove to enable firm attachment of the guy line(s)
5. A cap with a reinforced top to allow 'hammering' into harder group without damage
6. A cap with a clearly / brightly coloured reinforced top to ensure high visibility
7. A cap that can be constructed out of plastic, composites, wood, metal or other durable materials
8. A cap body that can be coloured and decorated to a customer's preference
