Abstract

Eyewear with inter-change components that allow the wearer to change the components without the requirement for tools, via one or more engagement means that detachably connect the frame and the temple arms of the eyewear, allowing the wear to change the shape, colour and style of the eyewear. Preferably the frame, two temple arms and pair of lenses are separable, and the frame has a vertically positioned cylindrical peg that engages with a recess on the temple arm, allowing the frame and arm to be interchanged and for the arm to frame to pivot in respect of each other. The cylindrical peg and recess may have magnets e.g. permanent and/or electromagnets to assist in the connection of the frame and temple arms. Alternatively the eyewear may include materials that can change temperature, colour, and control the level of filtration of electromagnetic radiation; or support other devices e.g. eye scanning devices, solar panels, and/or brain imaging devices.
