Abstract

A set of modular massage blocks, each block 1 having one or more protruding nodules 2. Each block contains eight embedded magnets (3), allowing blocks to be connected magnetically in a side-by-side configuration. The massage blocks are preferably made of silicon or dense foam. The massage blocks can be connected together in a number of different configurations. The projecting nodules are preferably firm rubber.

Description

esescckvp-c,o(N) Magnetic massage blocks A good way to stretch and extend the body is by using dense foam blocks to rest on and extend out limbs and the upper and lower back. Also, varying size balls have been shown to be effective massage tools by helping to relax contracted muscles when pushed against various 'trigger' points along a muscle.
However it is often not practical to have varying size balls and foam blocks available and it can be difficult and time consuming to use loose spheres along a muscle group. Further, peoples body shapes and muscle sizes vary enormously making a one size fits all tool difficult to provide.
To overcome these problems the present invention combines dense but soft foam or silicon square blocks with firm rubber nodules of varying sizes and depths embedded within the block and protruding. The blocks also have hidden, embedded magnets on each side allowing the blocks to bond together in any side by side combination therefore forming larger massage blocks of varying shapes.
The massage blocks are portable and light and can be kept on a desk and used regularly throughout the day in varying combinations.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows massage blocks made from silicon or dense foam (1) and hard nodules of varying depths and sizes (2) Figure 2 shows the inside of the blocks. Each block contains eight magnets (3) in total. Two placed on each side embedded within the foam or silicon structure. The magnets are place so one is +ve and the other is -ve therefore blocks will only bond together with the nodules facing up. Repulsion between magnets occurring when the blocks are upside down as the magnets will then repel each other.
