Abstract

A tent for use inside a building has a heating means. The heating means may include a controllable electrical heater or mats (not shown) or comprises a heated floor 3. The tent may be fitted with one or more transparent windows 2 to let in daylight and may be provided with a roll down cover 4. The tent may comprise an inflatable frame 1 and may have a cover 5 made from a breathable membrane and having the ability to retain heat. The tents may vary in size to suit different items of furniture, such as a chair or bed. The device aims to target the provision of heat to where it is needed most which may reduce fuel / energy costs.

Description

Indoor heated chair tent This invention was designed to provide an innovative way to provide a heated indoor tent for elderly people to sit and watch television or read a book. As fuel bulls rise and it gets very expensive to heat entire rooms, this invention is designed to target the warmth to where it is needed most and it also prevents low-level drafts.
The indoor heated chair tent, is a small inflatable tentl that simply plugs into the mains power or any electrical power source. The floor of the tent has an electrical heater mat that produces a steady, regulated temperature for the tent. The front of the tent can be left open to watch TV or be closed by using pulling down a transparent flap. The user simply places connects the unit to the mains and places their favorite armchair in the tent2. The heat will gently warm up the tent to a comfortable level which could be adjusted manually or by remote control.
The heated floor could be protected from water ingress and a reasonable amount of direct pressure. The tent material could be constructed of any material, but preferably would be a breathable membrane, that allows light to easily penetrate through and helps to retain the heat. The tent could have a series of transparent windows to maximise natural light. The sizes of the tents can vary to accommodate any size of chair, sofa, baby's crib or even a double bed. There are no fossil burning fumes or CO2 being generated and because it targets the heating, it is eco-friendly.
The tent could be erected using a framework of metal, plastic or any other material 2 Or places the tent over their armchair and rolls out the heater mat below and alongside the chair.
