Description
PUSHING TOOL FOR A PISTON OF A WHEEL CYLINDER
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a pushing tool for a piston of a wheel cylinder.
Description of the Prior Art
A brake mechanism plays an important role in a car. When a driver steps on a brake pedal, a piston of a wheel cylinder protrudes outward to push a brake pad to make two the brake pads which face each other clamp on a brake disc to stop the car.
Because the brake pad is abraded during the braking process, the brake pad needs to be replaced when the brake pad is used for some time.
After the piston of the wheel cylinder protrudes outward, the piston does not return to an initial position in the wheel cylinder; therefore, before replacing the brake pad, a tool is further needed to push the piston back. A pushing tool of the prior art is a threaded rod. The type of conventional arts are disclosed in TW392552 and TWM274207. However, in this type of conventional arts, the threaded rod can only be rotated and moved forward in a direction; therefore, when the user wants to rotate the threaded rod to abut in another direction, the user needs to change the pushing tool. It is time-consuming and inefficient to replace the brake pad.
In addition, another pushing tool of a brake piston is driven by hydraulic pressure or pneumatic pressure in order to be more effort-saving during the pushing process. However, in this type of conventional arts, once there is no fluid or air, the pushing operation is unable to be carried out smoothly.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The major object of the present invention is to provide a pushing tool for a piston of a wheel cylinder which allows a user to operate a rod to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise during the pushing process so as to push a piston into a wheel cylinder. With the present invention, it is effort-saving for the user to push the piston, and there is no need of high pressure fluid or high pressure air.
To achieve the above and other objects, a pushing tool for a piston of a wheel cylinder is provided, including a barrel and a pushing mechanism. The barrel has an operating end and a working end. The working end faces the piston of the wheel cylinder, and the barrel is formed with a positioning portion near the operating end. The pushing mechanism has a rod for pushing the piston, a positioning member which is disposed on the rod and releasably connected with the positioning portion and an elastic member. Two ends of the elastic member abut against the positioning member and the operating end of the barrel respectively, and the rod is disposed through the barrel and is movable between a first position and a second position relative to the barrel. Wherein, when the rod is in the first position, the positioning member presses the elastic member and is connected with the positioning portion; and when the rod is in the second position, the elastic member abuts the positioning member to move away from the positioning portion, and the rod extends out of the working end of the barrel for rotatably pushing the piston.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment(s) in accordance with the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 is a perspective drawing of a preferred embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2 is a breakdown drawing of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 3 is an operating drawing of the preferred embodiment of the present 10 invention; Fig. 4 is another operating drawing of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; and Fig. 5 is a drawing showing the preferred embodiment of the present invention in use.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present invention will be clearer from the following description when viewed together with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
Please refer to Figs. 1 to 5 for a preferred embodiment of a pushing tool 1 for a piston 61 of a wheel cylinder 6 of the present invention. The pushing tool 1 for a piston 61 of a wheel cylinder 6 includes a barrel 2 and a pushing mechanism 3.
The barrel 2 has an operating end 21 and a working end 23. The working end 23 faces the piston 61 of the wheel cylinder 6, and the barrel 2 is formed with a positioning portion 22 near the operating end 21. The pushing mechanism 3 has a rod 31 for pushing the piston 61, a positioning member 32 disposed on the rod 31 and releasably connected with the positioning portion 22 and an elastic member 33. 5 Two ends of the elastic member 33 abut against the positioning member 32 and the operating end 21 of the barrel 2 respectively, and the rod 31 is disposed through the barrel 2 and is movable between a first position and a second position relative to the barrel 2. Wherein, when the rod 31 is in the first position, the positioning member 32 presses the elastic member 33 and is connected with the positioning portion 22; and 10 when the rod 31 is in the second position, the elastic member 33 abuts the positioning member 32 to move away from the positioning portion 22, and the rod 31 extends out of the working end 23 of the barrel 2 for rotatably pushing the piston 61.
Specifically, the positioning member 32 is sleeved on the rod 31, and the at least one first pin 35 is radially inserted in and fixes the positioning member 32 and the rod 31 so as to allow the positioning member 32 and the rod 31 to be positioned or released simultaneously. When using the pushing tool 1, make the working end 23 of the barrel 2 face the wheel cylinder 6, and keep the rod 31 and the piston 61 abut against each other. Then, dislocate the positioning member 32 from the positioning portion 22; that is, make the rod 31 be in the second position to allow the rod 31 to rotate or move axially relative to the barrel 2. Via the elasticity of the elastic member 33, the rod 31 is driven to move toward the working end 23 of the barrel 2, protrude out of the barrel 2 and push the piston 61 into the wheel cylinder 6. Therefore, it is effort-saving and efficient for the user to conduct the pushing operation. In addition, during the pushing process, the user can rotate the rod 31 clockwise or counterclockwise, so the user can rotatably push the piston 61 to make the piston 61 enter the wheel cylinder 6 smoothly. It is to be noted that because the piston 61 is pushed by the elastic member 33, the pushing tool 1 can be used anywhere without the help of other auxiliary powers (for example, high pressure air or high pressure fluid).
The positioning member 32 and the positioning portion 22 are conveniently positioned by screwing; therefore, the positioning portion 22 is formed with a first threaded portion 221, and the positioning member 32 is formed with a second threaded portion 321 screwable with the first threaded portion 221. In this embodiment, the first threaded portion 221 is an internal threaded portion, the second threaded portion 321 is an external threaded portion and the positioning member 32 is connected with the rod 31 via the first pin 35. It is understandable that as long as the positioning member 32 is releasably connected with the positioning portion 22 to be positioned, the positioning member 32 may be positioned by engaging or other ways. Likewise, as long as the positioning member 32 and the rod 31 can move simultaneously, the positioning member 32 and the rod 31 may be connected with each other in any way or even be integrally formed.
Preferably, a first end 311 of the rod 31 is further formed with a driving assembly 5, and the driving assembly 5 is provided for being rotated and operated from outside. More preferably, the driving assembly 5 includes a driving portion 51 for being driven by a driving tool (for example, an impact wrench or a ratchet :5 wrench). Therefore, when the piston 61 is harder to be pushed, the rod 31 can be rotated and pushed by an extra auxiliary power aside from a pushing force of the elastic member 33. Wherein, the driving assembly 5 is preferably detachably disposed on the rod 31; for example, in this embodiment, the driving assembly 5 is fixed on the rod 31 via the second pin 36. Therefore, when the driving assembly 5 is damaged, the driving assembly 5 can be replaced quickly; and driving assembly having different driving portions can replace the driving assembly 5 in accordance with different driving tools.
In addition, a second end 312 of the rod 31 is further formed with a pushing member 34 provided for abutting against the piston 61 so as to push the piston 61 with pushing force evenly and to be connected with the piston 61 stably. Preferably, the pushing member 34 is detachably connected with the rod 31, and the user can change different pushing members 34 in accordance with different shapes or dimensions of the piston 61. Preferably, the pushing tool 1 is further formed with a supporting member 4 at a working end 23 of the barrel 2; therefore, during the process of pushing the piston 61, the supporting member 4 is provided for abutting against the wheel cylinder 6 to apply a force more steadily.
Given the above, with the present invention, it is effort-saving for the user to replace a brake pad. More importantly, the rod can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise to rotate and push the piston into the wheel cylinder; therefore, there is no need of another tool to push the piston. It is time-saving and efficient to replace the brake pad.
In addition, a structure of the present invention is simple and easy to carry.
Furthermore, the rod pushes the piston via the elastic member, so the present invention can be used anywhere without any auxiliary powers.
While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further 5 embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
