Description

TRADING POST WITH MOVEABLE DISPLAY STAND
The object of the invention is a trading post.
The construction of trading posts, especially in large-area shopping centers comprising a plurality of trading posts of identical construction, is an important technical problem, affecting the cost of building of the centre and its functionality.
Typical shopping centers comprise a plurality of trading posts in form of compartments, which are limited by a front wall, two side walls and a back wall.
The back wall and the side walls are usually shared by adjacent posts. The posts are usually designed to trade within the post.
Moveable trading stands are known, such as display stands: which can be positioned outside the trading post, thereby extending the area on which the trading takes place. There are known moveable display stands which are used independently of the trading post, which have to be parked at a specific place after working hours. The display stands may be parked outside the post, where they are subject to unauthorized access. They may be also parked within the post, where they occupy additional space and hamper activities to be performed after working hours. In case such stands become faulty, they require additional storage place. In addition, the known display stands which comprise electric appliances, such as lighting, must be connected to a power supply via cables, which makes their use troublesome.
The GB2474663B patent discloses a trading post with moveable display stand, which can be used within the trading post as one of the stationary display stands. When needed, it can be moved outside the trading post in order to move some of the trading outside of the trading post, to some other place in the building.
Such display stand is however not adapted to secure the elements comprised in it, for example cash cassette or cash register.
The aim of the invention is to provide a trading post having a display stand associated therewith in such a way that the display stand can be utilized both within the trading post and outside of the trading post, wherein the maintenance of the display stand is relatively simple, and wherein the display stand is adapted to secure selected elements comprised in it from unauthorized access.
The object of the invention is a trading post comprising a side wall, a front wall with an opening and a moveable display stand with at least one electric appliance, wherein the post further comprises a parking area adjacent to the side wall and to the opening of the front wall, wherein the display stand comprises a battery for powering the at least one electric appliance and a stand connector for charging the battery situated at the periphery of the display stand, the stand connector configured to be directly connectable to a post connector situated at the periphery of the parking area, wherein the display stand is configured such that when the display stand is parked within the parking area and the stand connector is directly connected to the post connector, a first side wall of the stand adjoins the side wall of the post and a second side wall of the stand substantially overlaps with the opening of the front wall of the post and a third side wall of the stand providing access to the contents of the display stand is accessible from the interior of the trading post, and wherein the display stand further comprises a recess in the first side wall, in which there is mounted at least one electric socket connected by an electrical connection to the battery.
Preferably, a cash cassette is mounted in the recess.
Preferably, a cash register is mounted in the recess.
Preferably, a POS terminal is mounted in the recess.
The object of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment on a drawing, in which: Fig. 1 presents a trading post according to the invention; Fig. 2 presents a display stand associated with the trading post according to the invention; Figs. 3A-3C present consecutive stages of parking the display stand within the trading post according to the invention.
Fig. 1 presents a trading post 100 according to the invention. The trading post is limited by at least two walls, a side wall 101 and a front wall 102, preferably by four walls as shown in Fig. 1. The front wall 102 has an opening 103. A display stand 120, presented in details in Fig. 2, is associated with the post, having at least one electric appliance, such as lighting, an advertising screen, a computer, a counter, etc. At least one electric appliance 121, when the display stand is not connected to the mains power supply, is powered by a battery 122. The battery 122 is charged via a stand connector 123, situated at the periphery of the display stand 120. A parking area 104 for the display stand 120 is situated within the trading post 100, adjacently to the side wall 101 and the opening 103 in the front wall. A post connector 105 is situated at the periphery of the parking area 104, configured to be connected with the stand connector 123 for charging the battery 122. The stand connector 123 and the post connector 105 may be a plug-and-socket pair providing direct electrical connection or a safe connection via magnetic induction means. The connectors 123, 105 may be situated on vertical or horizontal walls. The parking area 104 and the display stand 120 are configured with respect to each other such that when the display stand 120 is parked on the parking area 104 and the stand connector 123 is connected to the post connector 105, a fist side wall 124 of the stand adjoins the side wall 101 of the post and a second side wall 125 of the stand, substantially overlaps with the opening 103 in the front wall of the post, as shown in Fig. 3G. Furthermore, when the display stand 120 is parked on the parking area 104, a third side wall (127) providing access to the contents of the display stand (120), such as displayed articles placed on the shelves of the stand, is accessible from the interior of the trading post (100), thereby functioning as other typical display stands of the trading post.
The dimensions of the second side wall 125 of the stand substantially correspond with the dimensions of the opening 103 in the front wall of the post, therefore the display stand can be easily put inside and outside of the post, as shown in Fig. 3B.
The first side wall 124 further comprises a recess 128, in which at least one electric appliance can be mounted. The recess 128 can be positioned for example above the battery 122 and can have the depth equal to 1/3 of the width of the stand. Such placement of the recess 128 allows to secure the elements placed therein from an unauthorized third-party access, when the display stand is moved out of the parking area, as shown in Fig. 3A or 3B, in particular when the first side wall 124 is situated within the trading post. The trading post personnel can then supervise the elements placed in the recess 128 of the display stand without the need to go out of the trading post through the door 107, and the display stand maintains the advantages of being moved out of the trading post. When the display stand is moved in and is situated in the parking area, the wall 134 limiting the parking area 104 secures the content of the recess 128.
Such solution allows increasing security of valuable elements placed within the display stand in a simple manner.
The recess 128 comprises at least one electric socket 133, connected to the battery 122 by an electrical connection 132, to power the electric appliances mounted in the recess. For example, a cash register 130 or a POS terminal 131 can be mounted in the recess. A cash cassette 129 can be mounter therein as well.
Due to the aforementioned construction, the display stand constitutes both an integral and a detachable part of the trading post. It can be used within the post as one of the stationary display stands, and due to the fact that its side wall overlaps with the opening the front wall of the post, the display sand is coherent with the post. If necessary, the display stand may be taken out of the post in order to expand the trading activity outside the post, to another position within the shopping centre. Due to the fact that the display stand can be put inside and outside of the post via the opening in the front wall of the post, its maintenance is easy and does not require displacement of other elements of the post to move the stand. As shown in Figs. 3A-3C, the stand can be put inside the post directly from the outside, via the opening in the front wall. Moreover, due to the fact that when the stand is parked within the parking area, the stand connector automatically connects to the post connector, the maintenance of the stand is further simplified.
The side wall 125 of the display stand may further comprise an advertising element corresponding with the advertising elements placed on the front wall 102 of the trading post, therefore after the stand is moved outside the post, it provides additional advertising of the trading post and a clear indication of the identity of the stand.
The parking area 104 preferably comprises guides 106 for facilitating positioning of the display stand 120 within the parking area, for example guides for guiding the wheels of the stand, and connecting the stand connector 123 with the post connector 105. Such solution enables precise positioning of the connectors 123, 105 and their connection during paring of the stand within the trading post.
Preferably, the display stand 120 comprises blocking means 126 for blocking the position of the display stand 120 within the parking area 104. It guarantees that the stand is immobilized, and therefore the connectors 123, 105 are held in connection. The blocking means 126 may be formed by blocking bolts extending from the top and/or bottom edge of the opening 104 and configured to be introduced to corresponding seats within the top and/or bottom wall of the stand 120.
Preferably, after the display stand 120 is parked within the parking area 104, the blocking means 126 of the stand are inaccessible from the side of the stand wall 125 which overlaps with the opening 103 in the front wall of the post.
Therefore, after working hours the stand cannot be moved outside of the post by unauthorized persons, thereby it blocks access to the interior of the post.
In case the front wall 102 of the stand comprises a door 107 and a lock 108 for locking the door 107, the lock 108 may be configured to simultaneously activate the stand blocking means 126, which allows the personnel to lock the post after working hours in a convenient manner.
Furthermore, a curtain 109 may be mounted over the front wall opening 103 for closing the opening 103. The curtain can be mounted at the outside surface of the front wall, allowing closure of the opening 103 when the display stand 120 is parked within the parking area 104, which allows additional protection of the stand from damage and eliminates the need to use the blocking means 126. The curtain can be also used to close the front wall opening 103 when the display stand is outside the parking area, as shown in Fig. 3A, which blocks access to the interior of the post via the opening 103.
