Abstract

A device for dividing meat into portions comprising a box-like receptacle for receiving pieces of meat, and a support member having an array of parallel spikes extending therefrom arranged in a plurality of parallel rows, wherein the spikes are arranged to be inserted into the receptacle to pass through pieces of meat located therein such that the meat is retained on the spikes once the array of spikes has been removed from the receptacle, wherein one or more cutting devices can be subsequently passed between selected rows of said spikes to cut the meat retained thereon into a plurality of portions.
