Abstract
A night vision device captures objects in the dark illuminated by the infrared light emitted by a group of infrared leds (2). The resulting image is sent wirelessly (3) with a wifi direct connection to the screen of a smartphone or a tablet. The device is portable and powered by an internal battery (4).
Description
Description
Portable and wireless night vision device for smartphones and tablets This invention relates to a portable and wireless device that, by using a smartphone or a tablet as a screen and the infrared light as a light source, enables to see in low light conditions and in total darkness.
This device enables the user to see objects in the dark by illuminating the object with infrared radiation and converting the reflected radiation into a visual image.
The resulting scene, which is apparently dark to a human observer, appears as a visible image to the screen, and the images and videos are sent wirelessly to a smartphone or a tableL The device uses a direct wifi connection to the smartphone, without any internet connection or modem/router.
It gives the smartphone or tablet the ability to see and capture the world in complete darkness while revealing items normally not visible to the naked eye.
By employing special optics, the user can see in the area covered by the light even though the naked eye only detects total darkness.
Under visible light, it reveals hidden things that normally cannot be seen by the human eye.
A number of practical applications have been developed with this device because of its ability to peer through any opaque material that infrared rays can pass through.
It meets the requirements of many practical applications, like night vision, communications, botanicaL environment paint hunter observation, defence system and the police system, surveillance, airsoft partecipants.
Figure 1 shows the portable wireless night vision device, Figure 2 shows the components of the portable wireless night vision device A special optics (1) captures objects in the dark illuminated by the infrared light emitted by a group of infrared leds (2).
The resulting image is sent wirelessly (3) with a wifi direct connection to the screen of a smartphone or a tablet.
The device is portable and powered by an internal battery (4).
