Abstract
A composite, laminate panel comprises a perforated metal sheet 6 between an engineered timber product sheet 4 and another non-metallic sheet 8: this structure 4, 6, 8 being between further sheets 2, 10. The preferred composite is a wall panel comprising, in order: a steel sheet 2; an engineered timber product 4; a steel sheet 6 (greater than 500 Brinell hardness) having regularly spaced elongated perforations; an engineered timber product sheet 8; and a metal sheet 10. Preferably an outer steel sheet 2 is folded to provide an edge portion 12 and lip 14. The panel can be used to form an enclosure. Examples of engineered timber products include plywood and oriented strand board (OSB).
