Abstract

The invention is a case for holding two smartphones or similar devices. It has an outer portion having a long axis 2 along substantially the center of the outer portion and a divider 4 that runs longitudinally along the long axis 2 to provide a left side 20 and a right side 22. The left side may have at least one opening 5 and has attachment means such as a hook and loop system 3. The right side may have at least one opening 24 and has attachment means such as a hook and loop system 3. The openings may be in any combination of locations to accommodate different smartphones or similar devices. The case may have a snap or similar closure system 1.

Description

HOLDING CASE FOR SMARTPHONES OR SIMILAR DEVICES
The invention is a pocket-sized, folding. dual case (with or without a snap or similar closure system) for two smartphones or similar devices. The ease opens fully (360 degrees) around the long axis.
which allows it to be held comfortably in one hand and for either device to be used for voice calls or other purposes without detaching the relevant device from the holder. Each device is secured to one of the inside covers of the ease using a hook-and-'oop (or alternative) system, holding it securely in place, but permitting it to be detached easi'y when this is required. The devices are separated by a divider, to protect their screens when the holder is closed. The covers of the holder may have apertures placed to enable the use of smartphone or device cameras without detaching the smartphones from the ease. The case pemiits full access to controls and ports on the front and sides of each smartphone without detaching it from the holder. The case fits in a,j aeket or trouser pocket, allowing a person who uses two devices to carry both of them conveniently in a single ease.
An example of the invention is depicted in the attached drawing. Number references in the following text refer to the corresponding numbers on the drawing, The invention includes: an outer portion having a long axis (2) along substantially the center of the outer portion; a divider (4) that runs longitudinally along the long axis (2) to provide a left side (20) and a right side (22), wherein the left side (20) may have at least one opening (5) and has at least one attachment means (such as hook and loop system (3)) and the right side (22) may have at least one opening (24) and has at least one attachment means (such as hook and loop system (3)). The openings (if any) (such as 5 and 24) may be in ally combination of locations to accommodate different smart phones, handheld devices, computing devices and similar devices, The ease may have a snap or similar dosure system (I), The computing devices may also be the same, similar or dissimilar, By way of example, the carrying ease may be used to hold two iPhone® devices or one iPhone® device and one BlackBerry® device. The openings would be placed accordingly. These are just two examples and the possibilities of different types of computing devices that may be held arc numerous.

  2. 2, A case according to claim 1, which folds and opens fully around one axis, 3 A case according to claim 1, in which each smartphone or similar device is secured to the inside covers of the case using a hook-and-loop fastener (or alternative) system.4. A case according to claim 1, which may have apertures placed to permit usc of smartphonc or similar device cameras without detaching the smartphones or similar devices from the case.5, A case according to claim I, which may have a snap or simdar closure system.6. A case according to claim I, which has a divider to protect the screens of the smartphones or similar devices when the case is closed,
