Abstract
A quick assembly mechanism for a faucet comprising an installation seat 1 which is disposed on a counter top B and mates with a faucet main body C. A water supply connector 2 is fixed to the installation seat 1 and passes through the 5 installation seat 1, connecting a water supply pipe A under the installation seat 1 and connecting a water supply inlet C1 of the faucet main body C above the installation seat 1. A bolt rod 3 is further fitted on the installation seat 1, which when installed, couples with a lock block 4 which is movably fitted on the bolt rod 3 and located under the installation seat 1 to secure the quick assembly mechanism to the counter top B. The lock block 4 comprises a base 42 having a threaded hole 41 and a pair of turning 10 members 43 which are pivotally connected to the base 42 in a one-way manner. When folded, the pivotable lock block 4 has a smaller diameter than the threaded hole 41, however when unfolded, the lock block 4 expands to a larger diameter than the threaded hole 41.
Description
QUICK ASSEMBLY MECHANISM FOR FAUCET
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a quick assembly mechanism, and more particularly to a quick assembly mechanism for the faucet and its parts of a bathroom sink and a kitchen sink.
2. Description of the PriorArt
When a faucet is installed at one side of a sink, a nut is used to mesh with the bolt at the lower end of the faucet so that the faucet can be installed on the counter top.
The faucet of the kitchen and the bathroom is installed close to the wall. Subject to the shape of the kitchen sink and the bathroom sink, the space under the counter top to lock the faucet is very small. According to the traditional operation to lock the nut on the bolt, the nut must be rotated from the lower end of the bolt. The length of the bolt depends on the thickness of the counter top, namely, it decides the route of the nut to be locked. Thus, locking or unlocking a nut is time-consuming.
Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve this problem.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a quick assembly mechanism for installing a faucet on a counter top quickly and conveniently In order to achieve the aforesaid object, the quick assembly mechanism for a faucet of the present invention comprises an installation seat which is disposed on a counter top and mates with a faucet main body a water supply connector which is fixed to the installation seat and passes through the installation seat for connecting a water supply pipe under the installation seat and a water inlet of the faucet main body above the installation seat, a bolt rod fitted on the installation seat, and a lock block which is movably fitted on the bolt rod and located under the installation seat. The lock block comprises a base having a threaded hole and a pair of turning members which are pivotally connected to the base in a one-way manner. When the turning members are unfolded, the length of the lock block is greater than the inner diameter of an installation hole adapted for installing the faucet. When the turning members are folded, the length of the lock block is less than the inner diameter of the installation hole.
Preferably, the bottom of the installation seat is formed with a flange to be held on the installation hole. The installation seat further has a post seat on top of the flange to be inserted into the faucet main body. The post seat has a through hole. One side of the through hole is formed with a mate hole for mating with the bolt rod.
Preferably, the side of the through hole, having the mate hole, is further formed with a raised platform.
Preferably, an upper surface of the raised platform has a directional mark for installation.
Preferably, another side of the through hole of the post seat has a preformed hole.
Preferably, the water supply connector is a post sleeve. The upper end of the water supply connector cooperates with a seal member to mate with the water supply inlet of the faucet main body. The lower end of the water supply connector is connected with the water supply pipe. The outer wall of the post sleeve is formed with an engaging flange to be held on the upper end of the through hole. The post sleeve is formed with a reduced neck at a lower portion thereof for engagement of an engaging ring to fix the water supply connector on the installation seat.
Preferably, the bolt rod comprises a bolt head and a bolt body. The bolt head has an outer diameter greater than that of the bolt body. The top of the bolt head is formed with a socket for receiving a tool.
Preferably, the base of the lock block is an elongated rod which has a length less than that of the installation hole. The bolt body is threadedly connected to the threaded hole at the middle of the base. The base is formed with a pair of pivot seats at two sides of the threaded hole for the turning members to be pivotally connected thereon. The inner end of each turning member is formed with two pivot ears having pivotal holes. The two pivot ears are to clamp the pivot seats to be pivotally connected to the base. The front and rear of the pair of pivot seats are formed with a step for limiting the turning members to be turned downward.
Preferably, the outer end of each turning member is provided with a cushion block.
Preferably, the cushion block is a resilient cushion block.
Accordingly, the quick assembly mechanism of the present invention uses the bolt rod on the installation seat to move the lock block on the bolt rod. The lock block has the turning members which can be pivoted in a one-way manner When the turning members are unfolded, the length of the lock block is greater than the inner diameter of the installation hole. When the turning members are folded, the length of the lock block is less than the inner diameter of the installation hole. The water supply pipes connected with the installation seat and the lock block are inserted in the installation hole from the top of the counter top. After the lock block passes through the installation hole, the turning members are automatically unfolded due to the weight of the turning members. By using a tool, the bolt rod is rotated to move the lock block upward to hold against the lower surface of the counter top or the sink so as to achieve a stable installation of the installation seat and the counter top or the sink.
Finally, the faucet main body on the counter top or the sink is fixed to the installation seat to achieve a quick assembly for the faucet. The installation of the faucet is time-saving and labor-saving and simple.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As shown in Fig. 1 to Fig. 10, the present invention discloses a quick assembly mechanism for installing a faucet. The quick assembly mechanism cooperates with a water supply pipe A which is connected with a water supply inlet to fix the faucet on a kitchen sink or the bathroom sink, or on the counter top B of the kitchen sink or the bathroom sink. The quick assembly mechanism comprises an installation seat 1 which is disposed on the counter top B and mates with a faucet main body C, a water supply connector 2 which is fixed to the installation seat 1 and passes through the installation seat 1 for connecting the water supply pipe A under the installation seat 1 and a water supply inlet Cl of the faucet main body C above the installation seat 1, a bolt rod 3 fitted on the installation seat 1, and a lock block 4 which is movably fitted on the bolt rod 3 and located under the installation seat 1. The lock block 4 comprises a base 42 having a threaded hole 41 and a pair of turning members 43 which are pivotally connected to the base 42 in a one-way manner. When the turning members 43 are unfolded, the length of the lock block 4 is greater than the inner diameter of an installation hole Bi of the faucet on the counter top B or the sink. When the turning members 43 are folded, the length of the lock block 4 is less than the inner diameter of the installation hole Bi of the faucet.
The bottom of the installation seat 1 is formed with a flange 11 to be held on the installation hole Bi. In the embodiment, the installation hole Bi of the counter top B is as an example. The installation seat 1 further has a post seat 12 on top of the flange 11 to be inserted into the faucet main body C. The post seat 12 has a through hole 13 for insertion of the water supply connector 2. The through hole 13 corresponds in number to the water supply pipe A. In this embodiment, the post seat 12 has two through holes 13 for the faucet to flow cold water and hot water. The post seat 12 may have one through hole 13 for the faucet to flow cold water. One side of the two through holes 13 is formed with a mate hole 14 to mate with the bolt rod 3.
The mate hole 14 is a countersink formed in the post seat 12 to accommodate the bolt head 31 at the upper end of the bolt rod 3, and it can be formed with a notch 141 as shown in the drawings. The side of the two through holes 13, having the mate hole 14, is further formed with a raised platform 15. The upper surface of the raised platform 15 has a directional mark 16 to indicate the direction of installation.
The other side of the two through holes 13 of the post seat 12 has a preformed hole 17 for insertion of a pull lever which is used to control a seal plug of the sink.
As shown in Fig. 9 and Fig. 10, the water supply connector 2 is a post sleeve.
The upper end of the water supply connector 2 cooperates with a seal member to mate with the water supply inlet Cl of the faucet main body C. The outer edge the water supply connector 2 is fitted with the seal member to be inserted into the water supply inlet Cl so as to achieve a seal connection. The lower end of the water supply connector 2 is connected with the water supply pipe A. In this embodiment, they are threadedly connected. The outer wall of the post sleeve is formed with an engaging flange 21 to be held on the upper end of the through hole 13. The post sleeve is formed with a reduced neck 22 at a lower portion thereof for engagement of an engaging ring 5, namely, the water supply connector 2 is inserted from the top of the installation seat 1 into the through hole 13 from top to bottom by using the engaging ring 5 to engage with the lower portion of the installation seat 1 so that the water supply connector 2 is connected on the post seat 12. The engaging flange 21 is limited by the raised platform 15 of the post seat 12 so it is unable to turn automatically, namely, when the water supply pipe A is screwed to the water supply connector 2, it is convenient to rotate and prevents it from slipping.
The bolt rod 3 comprises a bolt head 31 and a bolt body 32. The bolt head 31 has an outer diameter greater than that of the bolt body 32. The top of the bolt head 31 is formed with a socket 311 for receiving a corresponding tool. As shown in the drawings, the socket 311 is a hexagonal socket. The tool is inserted in the socket 311 to rotate the bolt rod 3.
The base 42 of the lock block 4 is an elongated rod which has a length less than that of the installation hole 31. The bolt body 32 is threadedly connected to the threaded hole 41 at the middle of the base 42. The base 42 is formed with a pair of pivot seats 421 at two sides of the threaded hole 41 for the turning members 43 to be pivotally connected thereon. The inner end of each turning member 43 is formed with two pivot ears 431 having pivotal holes. The two pivot ears 431 are to clamp the pivot seats 421 to be pivotally connected with the base 42. The front and rear of the pair of pivot seats 421 are formed with a step 422 for limiting the turning members 43 to be turned downward, so that the turning members 43 can be turned upward only.
Thus, the turning members 43 provide one-way pivotal function. The outer end of each turning member 43 is formed with an accommodation trough 432. A cushion block 44 is provided in the accommodation trough 432. The height of the cushion block 44 is higher than the depth of the accommodation trough 432, namely, the top of the cushion block 44 protrudes out of the accommodation trough 432. When the two turning members 43 of the lock block 4 are not applied with an external force, the turning members 43 are automatically unfolded due to the weight of the turning members 43 and the weight of the cushion blocks 44. The cushion blocks 44 may be resilient cushion blocks, providing a counterweight to the turning members 43 and preventing the turning members 43 from being stuck when they are folded.
Fig. 3 to Fig. S is to show the quick assembly mechanism of the present invention when in use. As shown in Fig. 3, one of the water supply pipes A connected to the installation seat 1 is bent to the shape as shown in the drawing, and then the two water supply pipes A are placed in the installation hole B1 from the top of the counter top B and the arrow of the directional mark 16 on the installation seat 1 is arranged forward. As shown in Fig. 4, the lock block 4 on the bolt body 32 is also placed in the installation hole Bi. When the lock block 4 passes through the installation hole Bi, the two turning members 43 are subjected to the obstruction of the installation hole Bi to be folded upward to embrace the bolt body 32, namely, the two turning members 43 are closed upward. As shown in Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, when the installation seat 1 is mounted to the installation hole Bi in place, the flange 11 of the installation seat 1 is adapted to seal the installation hole Bi to ensure the neat appearance of the counter top B. After the lock block 4 passes through the installation hole Bi, the turning members 43 are automatically unfolded due to the weight of the turning members 43 and the weight of the cushion blocks 44. By using a tool D, the bolt rod 3 is rotated by the hexagonal spanner as shown in the drawings to move the lock block 4 upward to hold against the lower surface of the counter top B so as to achieve a stable installation of the installation seat 1 and the counter top B. As shown in Fig. 8, the faucet main body C is installed on the installation seat 1 in accordance with the directional mark 16 on the installation seat 1 so that the water supply connector 2 is connected to the water supply inlet Cl of the faucet main body C. Finally, the faucet main body C and the installation seat 1 are connected together by using a tool. In this embodiment, the faucet main body C is provided with a screw. The screw is tightened by a tool D to fix the faucet main body C on the installation seat 1.
To sum up, the quick assembly mechanism of the present invention uses the bolt rod 3 on the installation seat 1 to move the lock block 4 on the bolt rod 3. The lock block 4 has the turning members 43 which can be pivoted in a one-way manner.
When the turning members 43 are unfolded, the length of the lock block 4 is greater than the inner diameter of the installation hole Bi. When the turning members 43 are folded, the length of the lock block 4 is less than the inner diameter of the installation hole Bi. The water supply pipes A connected with the installation seat 1 and the lock block 4 are inserted in the installation hole Bi from the top of the counter top B. After the lock block 4 passes through the installation hole Bi, the turning members 43 are automatically unfolded due to the weight of the turning members 43.
By using a tool, the bolt rod 3 is rotated to move the lock block 4 upward to hold against the lower surface of the counter top B or the sink so as to achieve a stable installation of the installation seat 1 and the counter top B or the sink. Finally, the faucet main body C on the counter top B or the sink is fixed to the installation seat 1 to achieve a quick assembly for the faucet. The installation of the faucet is time-saving and labor-saving and simple.
Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

Claims (10)
- WHAT IS CLAIMED IS: 1. A quick assembly mechanism for a faucet, comprising an installation seat (1) which is disposed on a counter top (B) and mates with a faucet main body (C), a water supply connector (2) which is fixed to the installation seat (1) and passes through the installation seat (1) for connecting a water supply pipe (A) under the installation seat (1) and a water supply inlet (Cl) of the faucet main body (C) above the installation seat (1), a bolt rod (3) fitted on the installation seat (1), and a lock block (4) which is movably fitted on the bolt rod (3) and located under the installation seat (1); the lock block (4) comprising a base (42) having a threaded hole (41) and a pair of turning members (43) which are pivotally connected to the base (42) in a one-way manner, wherein, when the turning members (43) are unfolded, the length of the lock block (4) is greater than the inner diameter of an installation hole (Bi) adapted for installing the faucet, when the turning members (43) are folded, the length of the lock block (4) is less than the inner diameter of the installation hole (Bi).
- 2. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bottom of the installation seat (1) is formed with a flange (11) to be held on the installation hole (Bi), the installation seat (1) further having a post seat (12) on top of the flange (11) to be inserted into the faucet main body (C), the post seat (12) having a through hole (13), one side of the through hole (13) being formed with a mate hole (14) for mating with the bolt rod (3).
- 3. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 2, wherein the side of the through hole (13), having the mate hole (14), is further formed with a raised platform (15).
- 4. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 3, wherein an upper surface of the raised platform (15) has a directional mark (16) for installation.
- 5. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 2, wherein another side of the through hole (13) of the post seat (12) has a preformed hole (17).
- 6. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 1, wherein the water supply connector (2) is a post sleeve, an upper end of the water supply connector (2) cooperating with a seal member to mate with the water supply inlet (Cl) of the faucet main body (C), a lower end of the water supply connector (2) being connected with the water supply pipe (A), an outer wall of the post sleeve being formed with an engaging flange (21) to be held on an upper end of the through hole (13), the post sleeve being formed with a reduced neck (22) at a lower portion thereof for engagement of an engaging ring (5) to fix the water supply connector (2) on the installation seat (1).
- 7. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bolt rod (3) comprises a bolt head (31) and a bolt body (32), the bolt head (31) having an outer diameter greater than that of the bolt body (32), the top of the bolt head (31) being formed with a socket (311) for receiving a tool.
- 8. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base (42) of the lock block (4) is an elongated rod which has a length less than that of the installation hole (Bi), the bolt body (32) being threadedly connected to the threaded hole (41) at the middle of the base (42), the base (42) being formed with a pair of pivot seats (421) at two sides of the threaded hole (41) for the turning members (43) to be pivotally connected thereon; an inner end of each turning member (43) being formed with two pivot ears (431) having pivotal holes, the two pivot ears (431) being to clamp the pivot seats (421) to be pivotally connected to the base (42), the front and rear of the pair of pivot seats (421) being formed with a step (422) for limiting the turning members (43) to be turned downward.
- 9. The quick assembly mechanism as claimed in claim 1 or 8, wherein an outer end of each turning member (43) is provided with a cushion block (44).
