Abstract

An apparatus for the provision of power charge to one or more power cells of a device including a housing, a connection to a power supply, at least one power and/or data connection socket and means of providing said power charge wirelessly to the device when the device is in contact with, or in a predetermined range area of, the said housing. Wireless charging is provided by electromagnetic induction or magnetic resonance. The magnetic induction charging apparatus includes a transformer and a transmitter unit from which an alternating magnetic field is emitted. The power socket is in the form of an AC mains or DC USB charging socket.
