Abstract
252,164. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Davies, W. P.). May 12, 1925, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Condensers. - A condenser, adapted to vary simultaneously the tuning of a plurality of resonant circles, comprises two sets of fixed plates 2, 3 mounted on metallic supporting elements 4 - - 7 and co-operating with moving plate sets 8, 9 respectively. The latter are mounted on a shaft 10 between end-plates 13, 14 which are secured together by rods 15, all these members being electrically connected, whereas the sets 2, 3 are mutually insulated and from the moving plates. For this purpose the supports 4 - - 7 are secured on insulating strips 16, 17 which also carry terminals 21 - - 23 for the different plate sets. Adjustably mounted on rods 15 is an independent plate 48 which is movable to either side to increase the capacity of that side and decrease that of the other and is provided with a set screw 25 to secure it in the position to which it has been adjusted.
