Abstract

A front panel dismounting and locking mechanism for a drawer is disclosed. A side panel 14 of the drawer comprises a cavity for housing a mechanism for retaining a front panel 15 and for enabling rapid removal thereof. The locking mechanism comprises a main plate 1, a spring biased swinging rod 8 articulated with the main plate and a sliding block 9; wherein actuation of the swinging rod causes the sliding block to move between a locked state where it contacts a retaining element 7 of the front panel and an unlocked state where the retaining element is released. The main plate is provided with a guide slot 1.1, in which the retaining element can slide. The main plate is provided with a torsion spring 6 that urges against the swing rod. A tool 16 may be used to rotate the swing rod against the spring bias, causing the sliding block to move away from the guide slot, thus unlocking the retaining member.
