Abstract

A control box for intelligent furniture is used for solving defects of single function and impossible connection or control with various digital handheld devices of the conventional furniture. The control box comprises a box body (30), a box cover (G) and a control circuit board (150), and is characterized in that, the box cover (G) comprises an upper cover (20) and an aluminium surface shell (10) covering the upper cover (20); a plurality of key holes (23) is arranged on the left part of the upper cover (20), a plurality of indicator holes (22) is arranged at the middle part of the upper cover (20), and a USB interface hole (26), an AUX socket hole (25), a storage card socket hole (21) and an iPhone interface hole (27) are arranged at the right part of the upper cover (20). A control circuit in the control circuit board (150) comprises a charge play module (159), a USB interface module (153), a storage card interface module (1511), an AUX interface module (1512), an iPhone interface module (152), a key control module (154), a central processing module (158) and a power supply module (151); and a plurality of keys (J), a plurality of indicators (D), a USB interface (80), an AUX socket (70), a storage card socket (160) and an iPhone interface (100) are installed in the respective installation holes, and are connected to the control circuit via signals. The control box is used for being installed in various types of intelligent furniture for connecting and controlling digital handheld devices.

Description

SMART FURNITURE CONTROL BOX
The invention relates to niufti-functiona appliance contr& devices, iii particular S multi-function& control devices for furniture.
With the rapid development of technology, a wide variety of video products keep appearing in the current consumer digital market such as TV, laptop. iPad, iPhone.
MP3, MP4. smart phone and SD-Card. As the cost of living space increases, new problems and confusions of the access and connection of cabled consumer electronics and furniture appear due to the fact that the connecting materials between consumer electronics and furniture are exposed or the independent consumer electronics such as stereo system usuafly take up independent space and thus inconvenience to living space and destruction of visual beauty come along. Therefore smart furniture including those with music-playing function such as musical couches and musical beds have started to be marketed because they can be a piece of functional furniture while saving the space of an independent stereo system. The music playing control device of existing furniture is required to be close at hand, so an armrest of the bed or the chair, the tea table and night stand become the usual place to install the control box. However if the consumer carelessly sits on the control box, the music playing control box can suffer structural damage. or if the control box is spiHed with liquid, its function and service life will be adversely affected. As time goes by, the dust and oil stains accumulated on the control buttons will make the furniture less good-looking and kss valuable.
The demand for synchronizing the environment of digital audio and video system in a family home is growing. Current technology can synchronize images from digital handheld devices such as iPad (RTM) and iPhone (RTM) with Apple TV (RTM), thus the image problem is solved but the audio effect is not idea' because the sound effect given by TV cannot reach digita' cinema quality.
An aim of the present invention is to overcome the aforementioned defects of the existing furniture and provide a smart furniture contr& box that can be instafled inside furniture and connect with multiple digital products and be able to control the products. The box can be dust-free and stay clean while providing safety guarantee to all the access when not in service from damage.
A second aim of this invention is that digital handheld devices connected to the box S can also be connected with the stereo system instafled in the smart furniture to provide high-quality sound effect while playing the music programs saved in the digital handheld devices.
A third aim of this invention is to enab'e the smart furniture contr& box to provide wireless signal transmission of the audio signal from a mobile phone, which can transmit the audio signal saved in the mobile phone to the stereo system of the smart furniture and to share the high-quality music effect.
A fourth aim of this invention is in addition to the second aim, and is to provide wireless signal transmission to a television (TV) whereby audio and video saved in digital handheld devices can be p'ayed on the TV set.
A fifth aim of this invention is also in addition to the second aim, The box can also provide wireless signal transmission of a digital handheld device's audio and video signals and screen signal in order to transmit the audio signal from the digital handheld device to the stereo system installed in the smart furniture to share the high-quality music effect from the programs saved in the digital handheld device; at the same time to transmit the video and screen signals from the digital handheld device to the TV set and so the user can enjoy the video program and screen information provided by the handheld device on the big screen of the TV set.
In order to realise the above and other aims. the present invention provides a flLrniture control box comprising a rectangular box having a lid, and a control circuit board installed in a space formed by the box and the lid, wherein the lid indudes a surface shefl on top of the lid, the lid further including a plurality of button h&es. and a plurality of indicator light holes and a plurality of connection ports, the surface shell having respective holes corresponding to the button holes and indicator light holes of the lid and further having a window hingedy connected to the surface sheD, wherein in a dosed position the window covers the connection ports, the box further having a cable connecting hole through which a cable can pass.
Preferable yet optional features of the invention are delineated in dependent claims 2 to 20 below.

In order to realize the second aim the control box can have an integrated additional audio processing module, an audio amplifying module and a speaker with the second control circuit on the above-mentioned control circuit board; the audio processing module is connected with the signal of the central processing module while the audio processing module audio amplifying module and speaker are respectively connected with power supply module; the audio amplifying module input is connected with the audio processing module output, the audio amplifying module output is connected with the speaker, therefore to form the third control circuit.
In order to realize the third aim the following technological solutions are proposed: the proposed smart furniture control box can have an integrated additional Bluetooth receiving module with the second control circuit on the above-mentioned control circuit board; the Bluetooth receiving module being connected with the power supply module I, and the audio signal from the audio processing module and the central processing module. The wireless transmitting module can be connected with digital handheld devices; a wireless receiving module connected with the eentrd processing module and the signal from the audio processing module and connected with power supply module; a wireless receiving module. the audio output module and power supply module; the power supply module supplies power to the wireless receiving module; a wireless transmitting module transmits the audio and video signal from the digital handheld devices to wireless receiving module, and the wireless receiving module transmits the alLdio and video signal to TV sets via audio and video output module; a wireless transmitting module transmits the audio signal from the digital handh&d devices to wirdess receiving modu'e. which transmits the audio signal to the audio processing module, and the audio processing module transmits the signal to the speaker via audio amplifying module, therefore to form a sixth control circuit.
The buttons mentioned in the above proposals can include a power switch button, an audio play/pause button, a next song button, a last song button, vo'ume up and down buttons, an LED light control button; indicator lights can include an SD/LJSB indicator, an iPhone indicator, an AUX indicator and wireless indicator lights. 6. The left and middle part of the aluminum surface shell 10 has respective holes corresponding to the button holes 23 and indicator light holes 22 installed in the top lid 20 mentioned above. Wireless receiving module I 1516, audio output module 1517 and power supply module TI IS 18; the power supply module TI 1518 supphes power to wireless receiving module 11516; wireless transmitting module 111519 will transmit the audio and video signal and the screen signal from the digital handheld device S2 to wireless receiving module I IS 16, and the wireless receiving module 1 1516 wifl transmit the audio and video signal to TV sets via audio and video output moduk IS 17; wirdess transmitting module 11 1519 will transmit the audio signal from the digital handheld device S3 to wireless receiving module 11 1520, which will continue transmit the audio signal to audio processing module 155, and audio processing module 155 will transmit the signal to the speaker 157 via audio amplifying module 156, and the control circuit is iSOd.
Figure 9b further illustrates the signal transmitting ways between the smart furniture control box 1 and the existing TV set 9 plus the digital handheld device S2, which means S3 as a digital handheld device audio and video wireless transmitter is installed with the wireless transmitting module II 1519 and can be inserted into the other end of the digital handheld device S2. The digital handheld device S2 includes but is not limited to iPad. iPod and iPhone. Audio signal saved in the digital handhed device S2 will be transmitted via S3 and received by the wireless receiving nioduk TI 1520 which is installed in the control circuit of smart furniture control box 1 and transfer this audio signal to the audio processing module 155 which will transfer the signal to speaker 157 via audio amplifying module 156, to guarantee the high-quality music program. The audio and video signal saved in digital handhdd device S2 will be transmitted by S3 and received by audio and video receiver 7 while wire transferred to the existing TV set 9 to play the amplified images of the audio program. The best button sekction in the above exanipk is touch button. In addition, in the middle of the bottom edge of the window 11 on the left of the above-mentioned aluminum surface shell 10, there is a circular arch dent 12 (see figure 3a) for flipping the cover of the window.

What's more, in order to cool off the main chip circuit board 50, a number of vertical tong cooling cracks 36 (see figure 4b) are set on both front and rear sides 35 of the above-mentioned box 30 that is close to the main chip circuit board 50, Above are sonic of the popular exanipes of this invention, however, they do not limit the scope of application of the invention by any means. Therefore, any changes or modifications that are made in accordance with the patent claim are considered within the scope of protection of the invention. For examp'e, as iflustrated by figure 13. the multi buttons and indicator lights in the smart furniture control box can also be designed on the right part of the lid, whose structure is similar to the design on the left part, and no repetitive explanation shall be provided. Another example is the aluniinum surface shell covering the top lid surface and its surrounding area can be made of stainless steel. copper. carbon steel or plastic materiaL which belongs to the technology scope and is a self-evident case.

Claims (7)

  1. CLAIMS1, A furniture control box comprising a rectangular box having a lid, and a control circuit board instaHed in a space formed by the box and the lid, wherein the lid includes a surface shell on top of the lid, the lid further including a plurality of button holes and a plurality of indicator light holes, and a plurality of connection ports, the surface shell having respective holes corresponding to the button holes and indicator light holes of thc lid and further having a window hingedly conncctcd to the surface shell, wherein in a closed position the window covers the connection ports, the box further having a cable connecting hole through which a cable can pass.
  2. 2. A control box according to claim 1, wherein the surface shell is made from Aluminium
  3. 3. A control box according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the button holes are disposed at a left hand region of the lid.
  4. 4. A control box according to any of claims 1 to 3. wherein the indicator light holes arc situated at a middle section of the lid.
  5. 5. A control box according to any of claims I to 4, wherein the connection ports are disposed at a right hand region of the lid.
  6. 6, A control box according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the connection ports comprise any one or more of a USB port. AUX socket, memory card slot and an iPhone (RTM) port.
  7. 7. A control box according to claim 6, wherein the iPhone (RT1'vI) port is set in the middle of a rectangular socket, 8, A control box according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the right hand region of the lid has a lateral long slot, the length of the long slot being slightly longer than the total length of the connection ports.9. A control box according to any of the preceding claims wherein a control circuit of the control circuit board includes a charging and playing module used for audio-playing and charging, a USB port module with the USB port. a memory card port module with the memory card port, an AUX socket nioduk with the AUX socket, an S iPhone (RTM) port module with the iPhone (RTM) port. a button contro' moduk and a central processing module for the control of all modules; the mentioned charging and playing module, USB port module memory card port module AUX socket module and iPhonc (RTM) port module and button control module arc respectively connectcd to signals of the central processing module, the control circuit also includes a power supply module to convert high voltage current to DC voltage for the above-mentioned modules.10. A control box according to daim 9. wherein mu'ti buttons, multi indicator lights and LJSB port, AUX sockets, memory card slots and iPhone (RTM) port are respectively installed in the above-mentioned installation holes and are connectcd with the circuit signal from the control circuit board.11. A control box according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising an installation bottom board with the same shape and size as a bottom board of the box, on which the cable connecting hole is sct in corresponding to thc cable connecting hole on the box's bottom board; there being a vertica' hook set dosely to the middle of the loft bottom cdge of the installation bottom board which includes a small rectangular vertical board and a hook connected to the top of the board and the hook's cross section is an unequal trapezoida' raising to the right; there are a pair of symmetrical latcral hooks raising up being set closely above and below the right edge of the installation bottom board and the lateral hooks include a small rectangular lateral board and a hook connectcd to the top of the board whose cross scction is an unequal trapezoidal raising to the outside; meanwhile, the above-mentioned box's bottom board has three rectangular holes and the position and the size are designed as: when the installation bottom board is clicked beneath the bottom of the box, the vertical hook and two lateral hooks will be locked on the edges of the corresponding rectangular holes so as to connect the installation bottom board with the box's bottom board.12. A control box according to claim 1, further comprising an installation bottom board with the same shape and size of the bottom board of the box, on which the cabk connecting hole is set in corresponding to the cable connecting hole on the box's bottom board; the bottom board having a plurality of screw holes on the vertical S central line of the mentioned instaflation bottom board and two round sockets in between the screw holes while the rectangular holes are connected to the lower part of each screw; meanwhile female thread holes corresponding to the screw holes are installed in the bottom board of the box screws will respectively go through the screw holes and bolt tight'y into the female thread holes to fix the instaflation bottom board with the box.13. A control box according to claim 12, wherein the screws comprise flat countersink square neck bo'ts and wing nuts; the flat countersink square neck bolts go through the rectangular holes of the installation bottom board and through the installation board of the smart furniture while its ncck stays in the rectangular hole and its head stays in the round slot and the wing nuts wifl fix the smart furniture contro' box onto the smart furniture installation board.14. A control box according to claim 9, wherein the control circuit of the control circuit board includes a lighting control module with one or more LED lights and the lighting control module is respectively connected to the power supply module and the central processing module.15, A control box according to daim I, further comprising a plurality of buttons including a power switch button, audio play/pause button, next song button, last song button, volume up and down buttons, LED light control button; and indicator lights including SD/USB indicator, iPhone indicator. AUX indicator and wireless indicator lights.16. A control box according to claim 15, wherein the power switch button is an integrated button of long press for on/off and short press for mode selection, the control box further having a locking flLnction button. which on long pressing, locks up all the buttons except for indicator lights to prevent misconduct by careless press or sitting on the contr& box.17. A control box according to claim 9, wherein the control circuit board includes an audio processing module, an audio amplifying moduk and a speaker, the audio processing module being connected with the central processing module, the audio processing moduk and the audio amplifying module plus the speaker being respectively connected with the power supply module; the audio amplifying module having an input conncctcd with an output of the audio processing module, the audio amplifying module output being connected with the speaker.18. A contr& box according to claim 17, wherein the control circuit board includes a Bluetooth receiving module which is connected with the power supply module, and the audio signal from the audio processing module and the central processing module, the Bluetooth receiving module being operated to receive an audio signal from the Bluetooth module of a mobile phone and to transmit the signa' to the audio processing module, audio amplifying module and the speaker.19. A control box according to claim 9, wherein the control circuit board includes: a wirdess transmitting module, which is connected with the central processing moduk and the power supply module; a wireless receiving module, connected to the audio output module and power supply module; the power supply module gives power to the wireless receiving module; the wireless receiving moduk receives audio and video signals from the wireless transmitting module and transmits the audio and video signal to a television via the audio output module.20. A control box according to claim 17, wherein the control circuit of the control circuit board includes: a wireless transmitting module with a third control circuit of the above mentioned control circuit board, the wireless transmitting module can be connected with digital handheld devices: a wireless receiving module is connected with the centra' processing module and the signal from the audio processing module and connected with power supply module; a wireless receiving module, the audio output module and power supply module; the power supply module supplies power to the wireless receiving module; the wireless transmitting module transmits the audio and video signal from the digital handheld devices to the wireless receiving module, and the wireless receiving moduk transmits the audio and video signal to TV sets via audio and video ontput module; the wireless transmitting module transmits the audio signa' from the digital handheld devices to the wireless receiving modde. which transmits the audio sign& to the audio processing module, and the audio processing module transmits the signal to the speaker via audio amplifying module.21 A furniture contro' box substantiaflv as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
