WEARABLE HEAT DISSIPATION DEVICE
BACKGROUND
The present invention relates to wearable accessories, more particularly, to a wearable cooling accessory, and even more particularly to a wearable heat dissipation device for providing cooling to a portion of the skin whereon the heat dissipation device is attached.
Strenuous activities such as playing sports, working out, and etc, see a rise in body temperature, which, in most cases, is accompanied by the release of sweat. In dry (non-humid) environmental conditions, the sweat evaporates quicker leaving the body cool. However, in humid conditions, this leaves the skin sticky causing the body to feel hotter and uncomfortable as the ambient air in a humid environment is already well saturated with water. In extreme cases, in a relatively high humid environment, this leads to the body heating up, in turn, leading to heat cramps or heat stroke. Although, this sensation wears off after a shower (or bath), there is a need for a solution in the art that helps the body to stay cool in between.
SUMMARY
The present invention provides the solution in the form of a wearable heat dissipation device, or simply, a cooling accessory, for placement on the skin of a user. The heat dissipation device basically comprises a flexible, breathable base layer and a plurality of porous heat-dissipating members extending from one side of the base layer. The heat dissipation device is to be attached to the skin of a user about the base layer. The sweat from the skin, whereon the heat dissipation device is placed, travels outwardly through the pores before eventually evaporating. As the heat-dissipating members are air-cooled, the cooling is transferred to the skin as the heat-dissipating members are good conductors of heat.
Other objects and advantages of the embodiments herein will become readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
In the following detailed description, a reference is made to the accompanying drawings that form a part hereof, and in which the specific embodiments that may be practiced is shown by way of illustration. These embodiments are described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the embodiments and it is to be understood that the logical, mechanical and other changes may be made without departing from the scope of the embodiments. The following detailed description is therefore not to be taken in a limiting sense.
The present invention comprises a heat dissipation device wearable on the body of a user in order to keep the body cool. Referring to FIGS. 1 through 3, the heat dissipation device 10 comprises a flexible, breathable base layer 12 comprising a contact surface 14 and a non-contact surface opposite to contact surface 14. The heat dissipation device 10 further comprises a plurality of densely populated heat-dissipating members, each extending perpendicularly from the non-contact surface. In one embodiment, a heat-dissipating member comprises a bristle (or pin) 16 (as seen in FIG. 1).
In another embodiment, the heat-dissipating member comprises an elongate fin (or blade) 18 (as seen in FIG. 3).
Referring to FIG. 4, the heat dissipation device 10 is placed on the skin 20 of the user about the contact surface 14. In one embodiment, the contact surface 14 comprises an adhesive surface whereby, the heat dissipation device 10 is simply attached to the skin 20 about the base layer 12. In this embodiment, the adhesive surface is removable attached with a protective layer (not shown), which needs to be peeled off when the heat dissipation device 10 is to be attached to the skin 20. In another embodiment, the base layer 12 is made of an elastic material so that, the heat dissipation device may be wrapped tightly around a body part such as a wrist, head, etc, about the base layer 12 for placement on the user's body. In yet another embodiment, the base layer 12 is made of a non-elastic material and the heat dissipation device 10 is tightly wrapped around a body part about the base layer 12 and secured with securing means such as a hook, Velcro, etc. However, it has to be noted that the heat-dissipating members in the embodiments, where the heat dissipation device 10 is meant to be wrapped around a body part, comprise the bristles 16 as the usage of fins 18 is not feasible.
Referring to FIG. 5, each bristle 16 (and fin) is preferably made of a porous material so as to carry the sweat 22 absorbed by the base layer 12 (from the skin 20) outwardly through the pores. The sweat 22 in the bristles 16 are eventually evaporated as the sweat 22 is carried outward through the pores, thus, dissipating the heat from the body of the user As the heat-dissipating members are air-cooled, the cooling is transferred to the skin 20 as the heat-dissipating members are good conductors of heat. The heat dissipation device 10 can be made of any shape and size as long as the utility thereof is not compromised.
The foregoing description of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation.
Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
Although the embodiments herein are described with various specific embodiments, it will be obvious for a person skilled in the art to practice the invention with modifications. However, all such modifications are deemed to be within the scope of the claims.
