Abstract

A cleaning /realigning device 5 for a razor 1 comprises a portion of porous material, which is preferably filled with cleaning/lubricating fluid such as oil. When the blades 3 are wiped on the porous material the edges are realigned and the oil is transferred onto the blades 3, cleaning them and preventing corrosion. A flexible hand tie may be provided on the device.

Description

I
Description
Disposable razor buffer.
This invention relates to a cleaning & realigning device for fixed cartridge razors.
When fixed cartridge razors are used in conjunction with soap and water, the cutting edge will retain small amounts of hair, dirt and rust causing the metal to weaken, suffer indentations and lose its ability to cut as cleanly. At this point, dull razors are normally disposed of and replaced with new ones.
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a uni-directional cleaning and realigning device of a natural porous material, which. once lubricated, allows the transfer of oil onto the blade edges, cleaning and preventing corrosion, therefore prolonging usage.
The motion of the blades across the surface of the buffer will ensure the blades are cleaned and kept aligned more evenly.
Preferably the buffer has a surface of a natural porous material.
Preferably the buffer is fitted with a hand tie to prevent lateral movement An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows damage to cartridge blade edges during the shaving process.
Figure 2 shows re alignment of cartridge blade edges according to the invention.
Figure 1 shows the direction of the razor I during the shaving process.
A cross section of the blade cartridge 2 shows the blade edges 3 being bent out of alignment. The arrow 4 shows the upward force on the blade edges during shaving.
Figure 2 shows the razor I being cleaned and re aligned by a uni directional motion in the direction of the arrows on the natural, porous material of the invention 5. A cross section of the blade cartridge 2 shows the blade edges 3 being bent back into alignment and cleaned after use on the invention 5. The arrow 4 shows the downward force upon the blade edges during the uni directional motion on the invention.

Claims (3)

  1. Claims 1. A uni-directional cleaning and realigning device for disposable razor cartridges made from a natural, porous material.
  2. 2. A uni-directional cleaning and realigning device according to claim 1 in which the natural porous material, once lubricated, retains and transfers oil onto the blade edges.
  3. 3. A uni-directional cleaning and realigning device according to claim I in which the natural porous material is fitted with a flexible hand tie to restrain lateral movement.
