Abstract

When trucks, lorries or coaches etc are driven, particularly along narrow country roads, the likelihood of them colliding with over-hanging tree branches etc is great and these have a high chance of damaging the wing mirrors. The purpose of the 'Slippery Pad' is to provide a smooth surface for the branches to slide across and thus prevent damage. The Slippery Pad is made of weather proof materials such as plastic B and corrugated plastic C, located on the edge of the wing mirror and is secured with double sided tape A.

Description

Description: -Background of the invention.
Slippery Pads.
The invention is a device which prevents unnecessary damage to wing mirrors on a variety of vehicles.
When vehicles such as trucks, lorries, coaches etc are used 7 days a week and are well travelled, there is a much increased chance of damage. It has become apparent that a reoccurring issue with these vehicles is that they are brushing against over-hanging trees and bushes ruining the wing mirrors and causing additional maintenance costs.
It was thought that if there was an additional surface on the wing mirror to take the impact this could prevent such damage.
The slippery pads have a smooth surface which makes the branches glide across them and effectively pushes them away.
These pads will be made in different sizes to fit the variety of vehicles and will be supplied in different colours providing a range of options.
Please see below a description of the invention by way of drawings.
FIG 1) This is a side view of the product.
A-Double sided tape: This is used to attach the product to the wing mirror securely.
B -Plastic Skin: This is a strong piece of plastic material to provide additional reinforcement to the item.
C) -Corrugated plastic: This is the smooth! slippery surface allowing the branches and other obstacles to glide across preventing damage.
FIG 2) This is a front view.
A -This figure shows the corrugated plastic. -Please see details from Fig 1 FIG 3) This is an end view.

Claims (3)

  1. Claims 1) The Slippery Pad will provide additional protection to wing mirrors on a variety of high level vehicles, such as delivery trucks, lorries and coaches.
  2. 2) The Slippery Pad can be made in a range of sizes to be fixed on to a variety of vehicles.
  3. 3) The Slippery Pad will be made in different colours to suit. The yellow is used for high visibility, whereas other colours such as black could look more stylish on the vehicle and blend more effectively.I
