Abstract

A device relating to hair accessories, which can be inserted directly into a ponytail to provide the user with the appearance of an instantly thicker and longer ponytail. The device may consist of a plastic cylindrical base 1 with plastic grips 3 attached to it; one side of the hair device has a hair weft 4 attached to it. Once inserted into a ponytail, the device is reliant on the pressure from the ring ponytail to hold it in place, and the hair weft then blends in with the user's natural hair to create an instantly thicker and longer ponytail. The hair weft can vary in thickness, length and colour.

Description

The Instaponytail The invention presented relates to hair accessories, I have invented a unique device that slides directly into a ponytail to improve the length and volume of the ponytail.

Prior Art:

I have conducted a Google patent search, and I have not been able to find a similar invention.

However, I did find a different invention with the same purpose of instantly creating a thicker and longer ponytail. I will present the invention and describe how my invention is different: Patent No.: US 6,203,115 Bl -This invention relates to a fashion accessory comprising of hair attached to a claw type hair grip that is attached to a ponytail in order to enhance the volume and length of the ponytail. Often, when females require a thicker and longer ponytail instantly, a clip-on pony tail is commonly the choice they opt for. However, there are a few potential problems with this invention as often the claw grip nature of the invention can cause discomfort and it does not always grip firmly to the pony tail, providing risk of falling out.

Furthermore, when the ponytail is clipped in, it can be obviously perceived as fake, meaning.

it is obvious that one is wearing a hair accessory to promote thicker and longer hair. This is a disadvantage to the invention as females want others to believe that their hair is real, rather than fake. To overcome such problems, the invention I am proposing aims to slide directly into the pony tail, instantly providing a thicker and longer ponytail that is firmly attached, providing a natural look that does not cause any discomfort.

Description:

Referring to the drawings, firstly with figure 1 whereby the reference numerals refer to like parts. Figure 1 displays the hair device on its own; 4 refers to the hair weft attached to the ponytail device. The ponytail device is made up of a cylinder TPE plastic base (1) with plastic grips (3) attached to the plastic base that allow the device to be smoothly inserted into the ponytail, once inserted, they also keep the device firmly gripped in the pony tail (3). The hair device is placed into the ponytail so that the hair weft is able to blend in with the user's natural hair; the plastic device relies on the pressure from the ring ponytail to hold it in place.

Furthennore, the hair weft is firmly attached to the hair device via the same mechanism that holds bristles to a paint brush (2) -a metal band (2) surrounds the hair weft and compresses the hair tightly so that the hair is unable to fall out. Figure 2 shows an alternative view of the hair device -this device is simply inserted into a ponytail to provide a longer and thicker ponytail. Figure 3 shows a female with her natural hair tied in a pony tail, her hair is short and thin and she requires more volume (5).-the hair device is displayed near her pony tail (6) and is about to be inserted into the pony tail -this shows the direction the hair device is inserted. Figure 4 displays the finished result -how one will appear once the hair device is inserted. As you can see the hair device can be inserted safely and instantly, providing instant length and volume.

Alternative embodiment section: Different materials can be used to make the hair device -the hair well attached via the metal ring can be of different thickness and colour. Different types of metal and material other than plastic, such as wood can be used to make up the device. The device can vary in size depending on how thick one desires their ponytail and the device does not necessarily require the plastic grips it has to keep it in place. There are also alternative ways of keeping the deviQe in place other than plastic grips; however the main focus of this invention is a device that can be inserted into a ponytail that relies on the ring pressure of the ponytail to stay in place, and can also be inserted into anything else that supports this process.
