Abstract

Hay/straw feeding apparatus for an equine animal, comprising a main body in the form of a tub 2, a disc 6 formed with a plurality of apertures for location within the tub, guiding means 12, within the tub to allow the disc to move vertically within the tub whilst maintaining the disc in a horizontal position and a detachable rim 4 for securement to the top of the tub. When in place, the rim prevents the disc from being removed from the tub. Preferably the rim screws onto the tub. The disc can be supplemented by one or more secondary discs (fig 18) to alter the size of the apertures. The feeder is provided with a drain (38, fig 14) and bung and a rope or cord to secure the it to a fixing post or the like. (Fig. 3
