Abstract

In a booth a camera will track a line laser to record a 3D image and visualise this in virtual space. A touch screen user interface will then allow a user to print the generated object.

Description

DESCRIPTION
Similar to a traditional photobooth where you pay to have an image taken and printed for passports or novelty/fun our idea is to scan a face/person and print out a 3d model.
To make the idea commercially viable we wish to apply for a patent allowing us to hold the licence for a coin operated 3d combination of scanner and printer. We would also see this evolving to the use of external files for 3d upload and printing. For example a 3d file uploaded to our unit for a replacement button.
We would develop booths and kiosks where the process is fully automated. A user interlace will guide you through the process of scanning and then printing any item or body part in the scanning window. Once the user is happy with the visual a 3d representation will be printed and dispensed.
