Abstract

A rucksack can be moved from the back of a user to the front to allow easy access to the contents of the bag without removing it from the body. The rucksack preferably comprises a harness having straps a, b and c which attach round the body and a bag f which is attached to the harness by means of two bag straps d, e. When the wearer wishes to access the contents of the bag f they can pull it round to the front of the harness as shown in figure 6 without removing the straps a from their shoulders. This type of rucksack would be particularly useful for runners and joggers.

Description

Title: Easy Access Rucksack
Background:
This invention allows easy access to the rucksack, without having to take the rucksack off your shoulders. At present whilst walking! jogging etc. and wearing a rucksack, one must stop and take the rucksack off the shoulders and perhaps place it on the ground to gain access to belongings.
Statement of invention:
To overcome this my present invention offers a way to pull the bag easily from back to front, around the side of the body, to gain access to the contents, and then easily return the bag to the back.
Advantages: This enables the wearer to not have to stop, remove the rucksack from the shoulders, and perhaps not have to place the rucksack on wet, dirty terrain.
Introduction to drawings:
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: * Figure 1 and Figure 3 show the harness part of the invention.
* Figure 2 shows the bag and bag strap part of the invention. Please note that Fig. 1/3 & 2 will not come as separate parts. The bag will come with these two pieces attached, as in figure 4.
These drawings have been included to show how each component works and how the components will be joined together.
* Figure 5 shows how the rucksack will be worn, from a front view, and a back view.
* Figure 6 shows how the wearer would move the bag compartment around to the front of the body to access the contents.
* Figure 7 shows how the wearer would then move the bag compartment back around to the back of the body, and out of the way.
* Dotted lines show where two parts of the material are stitched together permanently.
Detailed description:
A harness is strapped around the body using the quick release buckles, by shoulder straps (a) and two straps that go around the body (b, c). The straps are then adjusted to prevent the harness from moving around. Attached to the harness is a bag (f}. It is attached to the harness by two bag straps (d, e). The upper bag strap (d) attaches to the upper harness strap (b), and the lower bag strap (e) attaches to the tower harness strap (c). The bag straps and harness straps are attached by four small loops (g) which are free to move independently, and are not permanently joined to either the harness straps or the bag straps (see figure 4).
Once the harness is fastened and tightened around the body, the wearer will then do up' the bag straps using the quick release buckle, and adjust these straps to size if necessary (see figure 5).
When the wearer would like to access the contents of the bag, he/she can simply hold the bag strap buckle, and gently pull the buckle to the side. This will cause the bag to move around the body (under the arm), to-the front of the body. The wearer is then able to undo the zip/fastening to the bag and to access the contents of the rucksack, without ever removing it from their shoulders (see figure 6).
When the wearer has finished accessing the bag, they can gradually pull the bag straps back round the opposite way causing the bag to travel back around the body, to the original position, on the wearers back (see figure 7).
Please note; the wearer is able to move the bag from the front of the body either from right to left or from left to right, but because of the constrictions of the small loops and quick release buckle, the bag can only be moved back to the original position the way it has come. * 3
