Abstract

A sign or poster is created by inserting slats into the gaps in chain-link fencing. The slats are cut to size from pre-printed boards for insertion in the chain link fence to create a proportionally exact replication of the printed sign or poster. A horizontal wire 1 may be provided to stop the slats from dropping. A further wire may be provided above the slats once they have been installed.

Description

Sign or poster derived from screened chain link fencing.
This invention relates to the creation of a sign or poster by positioning printed slats inside chain link fencing. These vertically inserted slats have been cut to fit the precise hollows created by the manufacturing of chain link fencing.
To create this, the invention proposes the manufacturing ala sign or poster on material suitable for insertion in a chain link fence and then cut to size to fit the hollows of the chain link fence and create a proportionally correct image inside the chain link fence, hence creating a sign or poster supported within chain link fencing.
The advantage of the invention is a long lasting sign or poster, while protecting the fence against intruders and damage, as well as creating a fence that shields from weather and prying eyes.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 Shows a conventional chain link fence Figure 2 a. shows the fence's view from the top, three dimensional indicating the hollows.
b. shows a 2D image from the top, indicating the hollows.
Figure 3 Shows a printed sign or poster board, with printed lines (indicating the cutting marks) and pre-cut numbered slats.
Figure 4 Shows the slats after cutting, all numbered.
Figure 5 Shows the slats inserted inside the chain link fence, with a wire to stop the slats from dropping.
1. Chain link fencing A chain link fence is a number of continuous wires interlinked with one another to create a wired fence. The wires are interlinked in diamond shapes (see fig. 1) which, when seen from the top, are hollow between the front and rear of the fence (see fig. 2 A and B).
These naturally created hollows form the bases for the insertion of printed signs or posters.
2. production A sign or poster is being produced on a base suitable for all weather conditions.
The printing of the sign or poster has been done by way of digital printing and all slats are numbered, indicating sequence and top and bottom.
Fig. 3: 1. Indicating the size of the printed slat with numbers indicating sequence of insertion.
2. Indicating the size of the cuts, marked by printed lines.
3. Marking the last slat to be inserted.
4. Indicating the thickness of the board, relevant to the size of the hollows of the fence.
3. cut to size The sign or poster is then being cut to the precise measurements of the naturally created hollows of the chain link fencing, taking into account the size of the links inside the chain link fence, creating a perfectly proportioned sign or poster (see fig. 4) 4. insertion A wire is being installed inside the chain link fence, creating a bottom to the naturally created hollows inside the chain link fence, where slats cannot pass further than the wire (see fig. 5, 1) The slats are then inserted through the top of the fence, following the numbers printed on the slats. Once all slats are installed a second wire would be installed on top of the slats, creating a secure sign or poster inside a chain link fence.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims 1. A sign or poster derived from inserting slats into the negative space naturally created inside chain link fencing.
  2. 2. A sign as per claim one is understood to be a displayed structure bearing designation, direction or command as well as bearing lettering or symbols, used to identify or advertise a place of business. A poster as per claim one is understood to be a large printed placard, bill or announcement that is posted to advertise or publicise something.
  3. 3. Precise slats should be cut from the board, reflecting the measurements of the links and hollows inside the chain link tence to create a poster as per claim one.
  4. 4. A sign or poster created as per claim I protects the chain link fencing from intruders, weather and shields areas on either side of the fence.
