Abstract

A stand comprising a base F, a support structure D extending up from the base F, a platform F suitable for supporting a child attached to the support structure D such that it can be raised and lowered and a handle A positioned above the platform F. The platform F may be a footplate which clamps onto the support structure D which takes the form of an aluminium stem. A telescopic handle A may extend from the top of the stem and be secured using a pin and hole arrangement E. The device is designed to allow a child to be raised up when trying to view a concert or festival. The device is designed to be easily stored and assembled.

Description

Title -FESTIVAL STAND Festistand' Letter for Patent Office 24-07-2012
Background -
This invention is a cost effective, extendable pole/stand to gain a vantage point for children at festivals, pop concerts and various other large ca1e events.
The Festival Stand (festistand) eliminates the need for parents to put young children on their shoulders for long periods of time, as well as reducing the risk of injury to both child and adult.
Statement of invention -
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a stand to allow children of various heights, supported by an adult, to gain those extra centimetres needed to view the event from a safe distance.
Component Details -This invention consists of-: 1) A removable handle (A), anodised aluminium to reduce the effects of weathering/corrosion. You will also be able to put various thu coloured grips (B) on the handles. This will slide onto - 2) An aluminium stem © which will house a push pin (E) to locate the handle onto for safety; we will also have a push pin at the bottom of the stem. This will then slide into - 3) A second aluminium tem (D) again with push pin locatcr holes set at various heights for alteration of the height of the middle pole.
4) We then have the footplate (F) which will be made of Injection Moulded ABS, this will slide onto the bottom aluminium stem (D) and be locked into place with a stainless steel Quick Release Clamp (G). You will be able to alter the height of the footplate (F) to accommodate the different size of child. The * footplate will have a moulded grip surface for standing on to help with safety and non slipping from the child.
5) Last of all we have the second footplate (F) which will sit on the bottom of the last stem (D) and act as a non slip Base plate, this will also fasten with a stainless steel Quick Release Clamp (G).
6) Refer to drawing B' Instructions for use - 1) Remove the product from the carry case and assemble.
2) Adjust the handle to the correct height for the child be pressing the push pin and locating onto the stem.
3) Now slide on the second stem and locate at the appropriate height 4) Next is the foot plate, this slides onto the last stem (D) and is secured by locating the Quick Release Clamp at the correct height for the child.
5) Last we have the Base plate (F), this sits on the bottom of the last pole (D) and is secured with a Quick Release clamp.
6) Now the child can stand on thc Festistand' and enjoy the view from a better vantage point.
7) After use the Festistand' can be disassembled and stored back in the carry case for your next event.
Example -
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 -shows the full assembled stand, and shows adjustable points for height variation.
Fig 2-Front profile Fig 3 -Back profile Fig 4-Side profile Fig 5 -Side profile Fig6-Topview Fig7 Base view The Festistand' is designed with children in mind, it is also designed to be heldlsupported by an adult. The stand splits down into five components:- 1) T' shaped anodised alloy Handle 2) Section stem for handle to attach 3) Base section stem for above to slide into 4) Footplate to side onto Base section stem 5) Baseplate (mirror image of footplate) to attach to base of base stem
