Abstract

A hands free kit comprising a cradle for suspending an electronic device such as a smart phone, PDA or satellite navigation device is provided. The cradle comprises a hanging bar 4, a middle support bar 7, a lower support assembly 3 and side grippers 1, 11 and a suction cup 2. The hanging bar is substantially U shaped at one end and is configured to be hooked over the suction cup. The side grippers are each provided with a first and a second prong 1a, 1b that are moulded such that they extend in a perpendicular direction to a cylindrical rod 1c, 11c. The side grippers are connected to the middle support bar by a threaded bolt 8, 8b and tensioning nut 5, 5b. The threaded bolt is received within a threaded hollow centre of the cylindrical rod such that the side grippers may be extended or retracted to increase or decrease the width of the cradle.

DESCRIPTION
001 A hand free kit to suspend electronic devices such as smartphones, PDAs and Sat Nays onto suitable positions on a car windscreen, or a glass or plastic window on residential or business premises. It comprises of a cradle structure Fig. 1 with adjustable side grippers 1 and 11 and a thwer support assembly 3 and 3b to be suspended over plastic suction cup 2. The cradle assembly has a that is U-shaped at the top 4b with the lower support assembly 3 and 3b attached at the bottom.
002 At the centre of the cradle assembly, a middle support bolt 7 with threads at both ends 8 and 8b is attached. Two tensioning nuts S and Sb are first screwed unto the bolts 8 and 8b as shown in Fig. 11 until it gets to a user preferred point, then the adjustable side grippers I and 11 are screwed onto the boils 8 and 8b by clockwise turns until they come to rest against the tensioning nuts 5 and Sb to give a co-efficient of static friction against the movement of the side gnppers so that the cradle can robustly support the device placed in it with a hugging effect.
003 The user is able to adjust the tensioning nuts 5 and Sb up or down along the length of the threads 8 and 8b as illustrated in El and Fig 11 at the both ends of the middle support bolt 7 to allow the width of the cradle to be extended or retracted to support different sizes of devices placed in the cradle. The resistance effect created by static friction when the tensioning nutS rubs against the side gripper lid, and also when the tensioning nut Sb is locked against the side gripper Id causes resistance and stops the side grippers from moving any further than a user determined point.
004 The U-shape at the top of the middle support bar at Fig.lb 4b is suspended over and rested on a hollow groove at the back of suction cup 2 at point 22 to suspend the weight of the cradle assembly and its content onto a car windscreen fig.4 or a clear glass or plastic windows (figS) by the means of a press action applied to the back of the suction cup 2 at point 22b. The pressure applied by the user to the back of the suction cup 2 at point 22b causes the air under the suction cup to escape under the pressure to create a vacuum under the suction cup to cause it to stick to clean smooth surfaces like the car windscreen Fig 4 and other suifaces like glass windows Fig,5. To release the cradle assembly from previously fixed position the user can lift up and pull the flap 9 on the side of the suction cup 2.

The key components are: left side gnpper 1, right side gripper II. left side tensioning nut Sb, right side tensioning nut 5, the middle support bar 7, the hanging support bar 4. the lower support assembly 3 and the suction cup 2, are illustrated.

This is for hanging or suspending the cradle assembly and its content onto a car windscreen as illustrated in Fig 4, or on a clear glass or plastic windows of residential business premises as shown in Fig. 5.
