Abstract
A fastener 7 has a head with a driving formation comprising one or more holes 8 or recesses. A conical formation is present in the, or each, hole 8. In a preferred embodiment the head has three holes 8, each with the conical formation.
Description
Tricone High Security Fastener This invention refers to a high security fastener Protection and security of property is becoming increasingly important and this high security fastener is easy to use but requires a specialist tool to lock and unlock it.
This security fastener has been designed with three blind holes formed into the fasteners head and a cone shaped section projecting upright in the middle of each one.
The use of a cone projection enables the locking and unlocking tool to be extremely strong and therefore a high level of torque can be achieved when tightening the fastener.
This cone system can be used in all types of fasteners such as pan head and counter sunk. It can also be applied to fasteners with a single form in the head such as Allen pins.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 I Shows a vertical plan view of a pan head fastener.
2, Refers to the cone formed in the base of the blind hole and its central position.
3, Illustrates the blind hole Figure 2 4, Shows a side view of the fastener looking through its middle section 5, Shows the cone projection.
6, Shows the base of the blind hole and the land between the cone and the holes outer diameter and which gives added strength to the locking-unlocking tool.
Figure 3 7, Shows an isometric view of the pan headed security fastener.
8, This shows the cone rising up from the base of the blind hole 9, Indicates the fasteners thread. e.
Claims (6)
- Claims 1. A high security fastener (1) with conical forms (2) upstanding in the locking and unlocking holes (or hole) (3) and which require a dedicated tool to lock and unlock it.
- 2. A high security fastener as described in claim I which may contain three blind holes with a cone shaped projection rising up from the base of each hole.
- 3. A high security fastener as described in claims 1 and 2 in which the cone projections give the reciprocating locking tool great strength enabling high torque when locking and unlocking.
- 4. A high security fastener with cone projections as described in claim I to 3 that can be used in single, double, or treble hole configurations.
- 5. A high security fastener with cone projections as described in claims 1 to 4 that can be used in most type of fasteners including pan head countersunk head and set pins.
- 6. A high security fastener as described in claims I to 5 which because of the use of a conical form in each blind hole is difficult to drill or chisel out.
