Abstract
The attachment 9 is to transform a conventional drill stand into a multi-angle drill stand. A pillar 11 of a conventional drill stand may be inserted into an adaptor clamp 6a and secured via a nut and bolt. A shaft 1 allows the angle of the pillar (and attached drill) to be set via a magnetic washer 4, a spring 5 and a block 2. An alternative embodiment includes both the attachment and parts for the drill stand including a pillar, springs, mechanism, lever and universal drill adaptor. A corded or cordless drill may be used with the attachment. The attachment may be bolted onto a work bench instead of being portable.
Description
STANDARD DRILL STAND ENHANCER
This invention relates to a Portable Multi Angle Position Drilling Device that turns a Standard (Corded/Cordless) Drill Stand (from a 90 degrees angle vertical use only) into this new versatile Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand, and (from a bench bolted base) into a portable drilling tool, by removing the base and installing the pillar of the standard drill stand into, (by clamping it to this Standard Drill Stand Enhancer device making a 45 degrees angle a very simple task.
Standard Drill Stands are very useful in every work-shop from carpentry to auto-garages to DIY use, for drilling vertical 90 degrees angle, but even only when one can take the work piece to the standard drill stand and most importantly if the intended area for drilling fits under the stand driller, because of its limitation use, due to the obstruction of its own pillar, For example ; my standard drill stand has less than 20 cm space from the drill point to the front edge of the pillar.
My idea is to enhance a normal standard drill stand into a Portable Multi Position Angle Drill Stand Enhancer. by removing the standard drill base and installing its pillar to this new device by the enhancer's universal adapter pillar clamp. There are at least two devices to by manufactured and sold;
a) Either the Enhancer Model to enhance an already owned standard drill press, by removing its base, and installing the Enhancer Model base and shaft.
b) Or in the form of a new Complete Set Model, meaning a Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand (without the driller)

Referring to the drawings of the both models mentioned, The Enhancer Model, and the Complete Set Model, A standard drill stand can be transformed into a Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand by using this Standard Drill Stand Enhancer and would be fully portable if a cordless drill is used. The Standard Drill Stand Enhancer consists of the Base 9, and the Block 2 which can be either bolted Bolt 7 together or formed moulded/cast in one piece. The Block 2 and the Shaft 1 will have a (recess/seating) groove to house the Spring 5 and the Magnetic Washer 4; The Block 2 's front will also house the angles grooves to receive the notch of the Shaft 1 behind the front face, facing the Block 2.
The Block 2 will house the Shaft 1 which in turn needs to have a front face with a (switch like) knob designed with an arrow embossed on it, to indicate the final chosen angel position. The same with the Block 2 's face with the embossed different degrees angel position, the knob can be set to the desired angle,Shaft l's front face can be either be part of the Shaft 1, or for manufacturing purposes (not in the drawings) the front can also be bolted or screwed on the Shaft l's front end.
The Shaft 1 would also house the Magnetic Washer 4 attached with a one double sided tape side (the inner side of the Shaft 1) The Magnetic Washer 4 is mentioned with a single double sided tape because the Shaft lis very likely to be made from aluminium alloy. The Magnetic Washer 4 is designed to hold the Spring 5, at bay for easy installation and when changing the degrees angles positions. The Shaft 1 will have a thread machined or moulded/cast for the large Nut 3 to secure the final angle position. The Shaft l's back end will have to be designed pending the choice of the installation of the Universal Adapter 6,with 6a or with 6b,by the two Bolts 8. The standard drill stand can be transformed into a Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand by using the Standard Drill Stand Enhancer and would be fully portable if a cordless drill is used. The Standard Drill Stand Enhancer consists of a Base 9, a Block 2, which is either bolted Bolt 7 on the Base 9, or a one piece of the Base 9 and Block 2, together, the Block 2, will need to have a recess/seating to house the Spring 5, and would have the grooves to have the notch (on the shaft 1) to seat in, to choose the angle desired, the Block 2 will house the Shaft 1,

Claims (4)
1, The name given for this invention "Standard (conventional) Drill Stand Enhancer" stands for an enhancer which transforms a conventional standard (90 degrees only) drill stand into a "Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand".
2, Both models, a & b, a) The Enhancer Model, that transforms an already owned conventional drill stand into a "Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand". And model; b) The Complete Set Model, when one doesn't own a conventional drill stand, meaning not only the parts of the Enhancer model, but also including the pillar, springs, mechanism, lever, and the universal drill adapter, thus the complete set model. Using both a & b models parts together.
3, A Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand, both The Enhancer Model and the Complete Set Model as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2 that can be used with both a corded or a cordless driller.
4, Both models mentioned as in claims 1, 2, & 3 that can also be used apart from being portable they can also be bolted onto a work bench
5, " A Portable Multi Angle Position Drill Stand" as shown in all the drawings, figures 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,&13 attached with this application for a patent with all its applications.
