Abstract

A travelling aid to promote rest, relaxation and sleep whilst onboard an aircraft or other vehicle having passenger seats comprises a support which, in use, attaches to a seat back and cradles the chin of a user sitting in the seat. In a preferred embodiment the support comprises straps for attaching the support to a seat back, and a cradle element comprising soft, fabric wings with free ends which extend around the head of the user and under the chin, the free ends overlapping and fastening to one another using hook and loop fastenings so as to cradle and support the head and chin of the seated user. Preferably the fabric wings cover the ears of the user. The element may provide a hygienic barrier between the user and the seat back. The aid is preferably easily laundered. The aid may promote rest, relaxation and sleep by keeping the user warm and draught-free and reducing background noise, and the cradling action of the wings may prevent snoring by preventing the user's mouth from dropping open when asleep.

Description

Passenger Head and chin Support.
This invention relates to an aid to support the head and chin whilst being a passenger onboard a mode of transport that has a seat with a backrest.
Some of the problems experienced by passengers on an aircraft, coach, car or train for a long period of time.
The inability to sleep due to head positioning, the head will fall to the sides or forward; the mouth may drop open leading to embarrassing snoring.
To overcome these problems this invention supports the head and chin allowing rest relaxation and sleep.
The head is held and supported in a comfortable position with soft fabric adjustable wings cradling the head, they extend around the head covering the ears and supporting the chin. The soft wings then cross over each other and secure by means of hook and loop fastening. Behind the head, the wings are attached to the back unit which in turn attaches to the seat by means of easy fit elastic corner straps and an additional back strap to accommodate different seat types.
The soft material used for the invention makes it warm and comfortable promoting sleep and reducing background noise and drafts. It also provides a barrier from previous seat users.
*:*. The invention is lightweight and easy to transport and pack with no sharp fittings.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example with reference to the accompariymg drawmgs m which: et * * * * * Figure 1 Shows invention attached to a passenger seat.
