Abstract

A food mould comprising of a cavity having a base 1 attached to a wall 6 with a rim 2 and aperture keyholes 4, slits 4a and supports and/or guides 5. The slit rises from the keyhole to the rim of the wall. The aperture keyholes and slits are provided for the insertion and removal of rods or lollipop sticks (8, Fig 6). The wall may be tapered inside and outside; there may also be a maximum level line around the inner wall. The aperture keyholes and slits have added thickness to provide rigidity and to provide a seal which prevents the liquid contents from spilling out. The supports and/or guides are used to provide rigidity to the wall and to act as guides to cut the finished product equally. The rim may have additional thickness to provide extra strength to the mould and improved grip. The mould may be made from plastic or silicone.

Description

I
TITLE
Flexible Food Mould
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
The invention relates to a flexible food mould modified for the provision of one or more lollipop sticks to be inserted and guides for dividing the finished product equally.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
When making food products in moulds they are generally removed by hand which can lead to contamination of the food product and product residue left on your hands.
This can lead to cross contamination of other food products and surroundings. There can also be a problem of unequal share when dividing the food product up. We are currently living in a throw away' society which is unfriendly to the environment.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a reusable mould. It will have aperture/keyholes and slits around the wall of the mould for the insertion of a peripheral such as a rod or lollipop stick. There are supports which give strength to the mould which are also used as guides for dividing the finished product equally. There is a line around the inside of the mould which is a level guide for maximum level of the product.
ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
The advantages of the invention are that when the product produced in the mould is set, it can be lifted out by the rods/lollipop sticks from the aperture/keyholes smoothly up through the slits so the food product is not handled. This will reduce contamination of the finished product and surroundings as there will be no handling of the product. The supports/guide marks will make indents around the edge of the product. When cutting across from one indent to the opposite indent, the product will be divided equally eliminating the who's got the bigger slice'. The mould will be made from materials approved for use in cooking such as reusable plastic or silicone and therefore less costly and betterfor the environment.
TO THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION
For the purpose of the description a circular shape has been used. However, the invention can be any shape. An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention isa flexible, reusable food mould that can be any shape such as a circle, octagon, flower, but not exclusively and can be any size.
Figure 1, shows a perspective view of the invention and the positions of the main features of the mould. The base (1) is attached to preferably a tapered wall (6) which has a rim (2).
The tapered wall (6) has aperture/keyholes (4) with slits (4a) from the hole to the rim (2) and supports/guides (5). There is a cross section line (XX).
Figure 2, shows the invention base (1) attached to the tapered wall (6) which forms a cavity (3), this has a depth required to afford the desired thickness of the food product. The tapered wall has a maximum level line (7) which is at no set height, but is positioned above the aperture/keyholes (4) and below the rim (2). The level line (7) is to indicate the maximum level for the food product which can be in the form of liquid, semi-liquid, solid or semi-solid.
Figure 3, is the cross section (XX) as marked in Figure 1, looking across the base (1) attached to the tapered wall (6) and thickness to the rim (2) and lip (2a), the extra thickness is for reinforcement and rigidity. It shows the positions of the aperture/keyholes (4) and slits (4a) alternating with the supports/guides (5) the maximum level line (7) around the inner side of the tapered wall (6).
Figures 4 and 5, shows the aperture/keyholes (4) and slits (4a) from outside and inside the tapered wall (6). They also show extra thickness for rigidity around the perture/keyholes (4) and slits (4a) this is for reinforcement and to provide a seal to prevent the liquid contents from spilling out. The slits (4a) are emphasised for the purpose of the drawings
and description, but actually fit tight together.
Figure 5, also shows the supports/guides (5). There can be any number of aperture/keyholes (4) and slits (4a) and supports/guides (5) around the tapered wall (6).
Figures 3 and 5, shows the supports/guides (5), which leave indents in the finished product acting as cutting guides, these also give strength to the tapered wall (6). Figure 9, shows the finished product and how it will be scored (10) across from opposite indents which will allow the product to be divided equally.
Figure 6, shows the insertion of the rod/lollipop stick(S) through the aperture/keyhole (4) and Figure 7 shows the rod/lollipop stick (8) inserted through the aperture/keyhole (4) embedded in the food product (9). Once the food product is set, it can be removed as shown in Figure 8, which shows the tapered wall (6) at the point of the aperture/keyhole (4) and slits (4a) can be gently pulled back and the rods/lollipop sticks lifted smoothly up and out of the aperture/keyhole (4) and slits (4a) and the product easily removed from the mould. Figure 10, is a slice of the final food product (9) with the rod/lollipop stick(S) embedded. The invention can be any shape and any size and can have any number of supports/guides (5) and aperture/keyholes (4) and slits (4a). The aperture/keyholes (4) and slits (4a) can be any size and at any depth down the tapered wall (6) between the rim (2) and base (1).
The invention will be made from a flexible material such as plastic or silicone which can be used both for the refrigeration of food, for example chocolate and ice-cream, at extremely low temperatures and for cooking food, for example cakes and flapjacks, at very high temperatures.
The said materials are thermally stable and resistant to chemical agents, non-toxic and very easy to handle during loading and unloading of the food product to be refrigerated or cooked. The Invention will have a smooth and polished finish for easy release of the product and be easy to maintain and clean in compliance with the current health and hygiene regulations.
