Description

PATENT APPLICATION
OF
TRACE'Y' TROTtER
FOR
A POST EXERCISE SUIT
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a post exercise suit, more particularly a suit for exercise that leads to a damp or wet body, such as after heavy perspiration, showering or swimming.
Background
Increasing numbers of people are taking to exercise in an effort to beat rising obesity epidemics.
A particular favourite of many is swimming. This may be in outdoor scenarios such as the sea, or rivers, or more frequently in many countries, in swimming pools and facilities.
Frequently therefore a swimmer or user will need to travel to and from the pool in order to go swimming.
Children in particular enjoy swimming and many parents and carers feel it to be important that children learn to swim, enrolling the children on lessons. As these lessons are typically regularly timed, it is imperative to get to the lessons on time, and returning can also be time-pressured.
Children typically find it time-consuming to dress and undress for swimming, in particular when redressing, finding drying their bodies time-consuming and often forgetting items that are needed, for example clothing items, discarded swimsuits, towels or bags.
it does not help that typically the child or user will need to take a towel, their swimsuit, clothing, goggles and a bag to carry it all in to the pool.
In contrast the present invention provides a means of dressing an exerciser or exercise user post exercise, particularly being useful when the user is wet, damp or perspiring, after exercise, a shower or swimming, furthermore wherein the means prevents and minimises transfer of said moisture to other surfaces.
Sum man' of the Invention According to the present invention there is provided a post-exercise suit including at least: an upper body top, and lower body trousers; wherein the suit includes an absorbent inner that acts to wick liquid from a wearer's body.
According to a second aspect of the present invention the top and trousers are separate articles of clothing.
These articles may be attached to one another in use, such as by provision of press studs, poppers, zippers, hook and loop portions like VELCRO (Trade Mark) or other easily attachable and detachable mechanism.
Further embodiments may operate sJmply as separate articles, wherein for example the wearer or user may choose to wear one article at a time as appropriate.
In some embodiments however the top and trousers form a whole bodysuit.
Preferably within this bodysuit there are elements that allow for simple unfastening and opening of parts.
In all preferred embodiments and according to a third aspect of the present invention the suit, top and/or trousers are provided with easy opening parts.
For example in some preferred embodiments the top may have arm parts that include zippers, press studs, buttons or magnet sections such as running the arm's length.
Such part thereby forms an easily opened split in the arm part, said split allowing the arm part to be entirely open.
In this way the user may open the zipper, for example, at his/her wrist and open it to his/her shoulder.
This is best accompanied at removal or divestment of the top or suit in preparation for dressing after exercise such as swimming or other exercise liable to lead to perspiration, and allows the user to make the top easy to put on even when a wet or damp body or arms cause frictional difficulties between the arms and top's sleeves or arm parts, wherein these sleeves are open and subsequently zipped or otherwise closed after the arms are covered or inserted.
Equally in preferred embodiments the leg parts of the trousers in particular include openings that extend down the trouser legs to aid the user in dressing their legs when wet or damp.
For example the trouser leg part may have a zipper, or other easy attachment means, that facilitates simple opening of a stretch or split of material from a waistband to shins or ankles in use.
In this way the ankles may be entire at all times and may include elastication wherein the user may step into the trousers and do them up to the waist.
Other embodiments may have an elasticated waist band and splits that run the leg length, wherein the user would pull the trousers to their waist and zip up the legs subsequently.
Ideally in relation to such openings it is preferable that the opening may be effectively closed in order that it does not allow visibility of the body.
Typically this is by supply of a double seam wherein the zipper closure is covered by a seam and sits over another seam. This would prevent ingress of draughts as well as any immodesty.
In typical embodiments it is envisaged that the suit has two layers of material, wherein the outer is formed of a water resistant, impermeable material which is not prone to passing liquid but allows passage of air, and the absorbent inner which accepts, wicks and absorbs liquid.
Said outer may be formed of a waterproof, breathable fabric such as thermo-mechanically expanded polytetrafluoroethylene.
Typically therefore the inner holds the absorbed liquid preferably in a layer close to the outer and the liquid may be evaporated through the outer, helped by the body's heat.
This arrangement ensures that a user will be able to wear the suit shortly after swimming or other activity or exercise, and be able to leave the place of exercise quickly, without spending excessive time stripping out of swimwear or other exercise wear, drying their body and redressing into something they are able to leave the place of exercise in.
In particular it may be envisaged that the suit may be worn to the place of exercise initially, wherein it may simply be removed for exercise and replaced after exercise.
This means that travel for the user is very simple and does not require excessive quantities of clothing, items or bags.
Ideally therefore the suit is available in a variety of styles, colours and outer materials.
Typically the suit may include further features such as pockets, hoods and drawstrings or elasticated sections.
The invention has been described by way of examples only and it will be appreciated that variation may be made to the above-mentioned embodiments without departing from the scope of invention.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realised that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape. form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to. falling within the scope of the invention.
Brief Description of Figures
Figures 1 show a preferred embodiment of the suit, from front, back and side.
Detailed Description of Figures
The pictured and preferred embodiment of the suit is a lightweight tracksuit lined with towelling material, allowing for a quick and easy departure from swimming pools and beaches as well as a more lightweight travel solution and having a hood for wicking moisture from a user's head.
The pictured and preferred embodiment has a zipper down its arms (1), a detachable hood (2) and zipper down its legs (3).
The hood can easily be attached or detached using a few buttons.
The lightweight outer is lined with a towelling inner and this ideally combines to keep the user dry, comfortable and warm, ideally keeping heat contained within the suit.
Typically this will be of most use when the user is wet or damp, such as after showering or swimming, and may be used in some embodiments without towelling dry. In such embodiments it may be envisaged that the inner is thicker or denser.
Further uses include home, leisure centres, gyms, visits to the beach, etc. Zips down the limbs allow the suit to have parts that may be loosened from limbs, on the sleeves, legs and front allow for easy access when the person is wet.
Preferably stylish design means it can be worn to and from the home and exercise venue or water.
In particular in relation to children, when exiting the pool, the child can quickly jump into the suit, whilst still wearing their swimsuit.
The parent, carer or user can then zip up the arms, legs and front, and the user or child will be kept warm and dry.
The user is then ready to leave quickly and can even travel in a vehicle without getting seats wet.
Preferred embodiments of the suit also include pockets that may be fastened or closed and used to carry small items.
