Obviously, the figures to be described hereunder are not exhaustive, and persons of ordinary skill in the art would be able to obtain, based on these figures, other figures without exercising inventive skills.
[0018] FIG. 1 illustrates a decomposed LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention; [0019] FIG. 2 illustrates an assembled LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention; [0020] FIG. 3 illustrates a zoomed-in cross section of a decomposed LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention; [0021] FIG. 4 illustrates a zoomed-in cross section of an assembled LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention; and [0022] FIG. 5 illustrates part of an assembled LED according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Detailed Description of the preferred embodiments
[0023] The present invention is hereunder described in detail based on the following embodiments with reference to the figures.
[0024] As is shown, FIG. 1 illustrates a decomposed LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 2 illustrates an assembled LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention. The LED lamp tube 10 according to the present invention comprises a carrier substrate 11, insulating rims 111, a heat conducting laminate 112, a lamp holder 13, a power supply 15, a lamp shade 17 and end caps 18.
[0025] As is shown, FIG. 3 illustrates a zoomed-in cross section of a decomposed LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 4 illustrates a zoomed-in cross section of an assembled LED lamp tube according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention. A plurality of lighting LEDs 110 is spaced on the carrier substrate 11. The lamp holder 13 comprises a first side wall 131 adjacent to the carrier substrate 11 and a second side wall 132 remote from the carrier substrate 11. According to this embodiment, the lamp holder 13 is shaped like a hollow semi-cylinder, wherein the first side wall 131 forms a straight part of the semi-cylinder, while the second side wall 132 forms a cylinder part of the semi-cylinder. The side walls 131 and 132 together define a holding space 134. The lamp holder 13 is preferably made of a long strip shape material extruded from aluminum. Its outer surface may be provided with heat dissipation fins to enhance the heat dissipation effect.
[0026] A power supply 15 is disposed within the holding space 134, and comprises a power supply housing 150 and a power supply circuit board (not shown) situated in the power supply housing 150. In this embodiment, the power supply housing 150 comprises a U-shaped upper housing part and a lower housing part 156, which coordinate with each other to accommodate the power supply circuit board of the power supply 15. The power supply housing 150 is provided with side ribs 154 at both sides, which may be received in a socket 135 arranged on the inner surface of the holding space 134 such that the power supply housing 150 may slide in a direction along which the lamp holder 13 extends.
[0027] It is shown in FIGs.1-4 that a notch 1321 is formed on the second side wall 132 of the lamp holder 13, and in this embodiment, situated at the ends of the lamp holder 13 and particularly on the top of the second side waIl 132.
According to the present invention, the power supply housing 150 is exposed from the notch 1321. In particular, it is the top surface of the upper housing part 150 that is exposed from the notch 1321, such that the power supply housing 150 comes into direct contact with the air outside the lamp holder 13 to diffuse the heat generated by the power supply 15 to the ambient air. The power supply 15 may be further provided with ventilation holes 151 thereon, spaced from one another to further improve the heat dissipation.
[0028] Additionally, the power supply housing 150 is provided with a narrowed neck portion 152 at both ends. When being assembled, the neck portions 152 are inserted into the end caps 18 and around the notch of the second side wall 132. Thereby, the mating between the neck portions 152 and the end caps 18 and the second side wall 132 secures the power supply housing 150 without the need of additional fixing components. The end caps 18 may be further provided with power supply pins (not shown) for engaging with the power supply.
[0029] With reference to FIGs.3 and 4, the carrier substrate 11 is situated on the first side wall 131. The first side wall 131 comprises a barrier wall 136 disposed at both sides of the carrier substrate 11 and extending away from the second side wall 132. In this embodiment, the barrier wall 136 is designed such that itis perpendicular to the first side wall 131. Disposed on the barrier wall 136 is a pressing-deformed part 137 to secure the carrier substrate 11 to the first side wall 131. Now turning to FIG.5 which illustrates part of an assembled LED according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of the pressing-deformed parts 137 is spaced on the barrier wall 136, and deformed due to pressure against the barrier wall 136. In other embodiments, the barrier wall 136 may be tapered in a direction away from the first side wall 131 such that it fixes the carrier substrate 1 more securely. It can be seen from above that the present invention eliminates the need of additional fixing components, such as a screw, to secure the carrier substrate 11.
[0030] As is shown in FIG.3 and 4, the two side edges of the carrier substrate 11 are wrapped with insulating rims 111. In this embodiment, the insulating rims 111 have a U-shaped cross section and wrap the side edges of the carrier substrate 11. The pressing-deformed parts 137 act on the insulating rims 111 such that the carrier substrate ills fixed to the first side wall 131 by means of the insulating rims 111. According to this embodiment of the invention, the purpose of the insulating rims 111 is to prevent short circuits between the carrier substrate 11 and the carrier wall 136, or between the pressing-deformed pad 137 and the lamp holder 13.
[0031] A heat conducting laminate 112 is disposed between the carrier substrate 11 and the first side wall 131 to increase the heat conduction therebetween. The heat conducting laminate 112 preferably has the same thickness as the insulating rims ill.
[0032] Additionally, as is illustrated in FIGs.3 and 4, the lamp holder 13 is provided with a first hook 138 at the sides, and the lamp shade 17 is provided with a second buckle 171 at the sides to form a snap4it assembly with the first buckle 138, such that the lamp shade 17 and the lamp holder 13 may engage with each other to allow the lamp shade 17 to slide in a direction along which the lamp holder 13 extends. The lamp shade 17 is made of a light conducting material which may be selected as needed, and may take any shapes deemed fit in accordance with circumstances.
[0033] While the present invention is described with reference to particular embodiments, these embodiments should not be construed to restrict the scope of the present invention. Any equivalent variations to the structures or flows disclosed in the description and the drawing of the present invention, or any direct or indirect applications of the present invention to other related technical fields are also considered to be part of the present invention.
